Last nights lunar eclipse with the Milky Way above taken from Independence Pass, Colorado

This image was created by stitching together 20 photos into a panorama and then blending a shot of eclipse in order to get the full high dynamic range of the photo. This process is absolutely necessary anytime you are shooting the moon and/or an eclipse at night. If you are interested in hearing more about my process feel free to send me a DM.. I’m still learning practicing these techniques so its no where near perfect but it’s all a part of the process of growth 🙌

There aren’t many options for compositions of this waterfall unless you want to jump over a railing and scale down a really sketchy and steep hill with only ropes tied to the trees above to keep you from falling a couple hundred feet to the bottom.. trust me I definitely thought about it hard 😅 but since I had my dog with me I chose to stick to the overlook where I took these. Luckily this waterfall is pretty photogenic regardless so here is a zoom shot vs a wide angle shot.. next time I’ll send it down to the bottom 😉
