Someone told me my photos look like AI.
I disagree.

The easiest hack to get a great image is to take off all the colors from it.
That's one of the first advices I've ever heard when I started taking portraits.
It's true... partly true...
It's a cheat code that has to be followed only when you have no control over the colors you are about to photograph, when everything is so messed up, that the only thing that can save that photo is to desaturate the whole color scheme.
Noticed I mentioned "you are about to photograph "
What I mean is you have to make the choice of photographing color or b&w before you take the photo, not afer its already happened.
Black and white, monochromatic photography has its own unique approach, different contrast ratio between light and dark parts, sometimes different crop that has to be made.
It's another type of photography, it's strong and powerful if executed well.

Someone told me my photos look AI.
I couldn't guess say what he meant by that, was that a good thing, was that a roast 🤔
Let me give you my thoughts on AI.
AI is getting its brain analyzing millions of great images, photographs and artworks. AI image has all the knowledge that all the photographers combined have and use.
AI makes a perfect world example of a perfectly executed imagery.
And while most photographers avoid or just can't create a well lit, well designed and posed portrait , it's becoming a trend to create something worse, something mediocre and something poorly shot as if to differentiate yourself from AI.
AI is a great textbook for someone who wants to learn and it can be a great exercise and test before taking it to the real world. AI is a tool, not yet accepted, just like internet, photoshop, digital cameras and electric cars.
It's the future based on the mistakes and achievements of yhe bast.
Now when someone says my images look AI, I take it as a compliment, a positive review and a good reason to create better images.
