The reason why I love sneaking out for golden hour with couples isn't for the lighting.

It's for the pure joy (and relief!!) that the most nerve-wracking part of the day is over- the ceremony has been completed, the marriage license is signed. They're officially MARRIED!!! And you can often feel the love and tenderness during this time of the evening- they're with their people, they've eaten a delicious meal, and now they get to look forward to dancing the night away.

There is something special about this in-between moment on a wedding day, whether the sky is clear with changing colors or an overcast day with no sun in sight- it's the people and the excitement they are feeling that matter the most to me. 5-10 minutes is all we need to capture it before going back to join the party. 💛

I love the way photos can bring you back to a moment in time.

Looking through these photos and trying to decide which ones to post, I was instantly brought back to how fun Hannah and Matt's engagement session was. We drove up together to Kohler Andrae State Park and had lots of time to chat, laugh, and get to know one another. I remember how excited I felt to take these photos for these two- their willingness to dive into being silly, vulnerable, and running around the beach made for a beautiful engagement session.

I know their wedding day will be an incredible experience as we celebrate their promise to each other. Can't wait to see what incredible memories are in store!!

When Meagan reached out for updated branding photos to help market her business, I was THRILLED! I love her whole-person approach with her nutritional and intuitive eating counseling and personal training.
