Apparently it was World Photography Day. I consider myself extremely blessed to be able to capture and share the beauty and the moments that make up my life. As a photographer, though, I always feel like it is my ultimate duty to do so. And wondering how it will be received is always in the back of my mind while I’m shooting. I’m actually convicted by how much these things do have a bearing on how I shoot a shot, or whether or not I even consider it worthy to be photographed. I’ve always believed that the beauty around us is meant to be shared and enjoyed. And I strive to do so. But recently, I’ve been having to remind myself that it’s OK to enjoy the moment. Put the camera down. Take it in. Snap a photo for yourself. For just yourself. Let that memory be yours and only yours. With all the snapping of the shutter, don’t forget that you will never get that moment back. You will never see what your eyes are seeing right then and there ever the same. And there is nothing that a camera can do to capture that.
