Apparently it was World Photography Day. I consider myself extremely blessed to be able to capture and share the beauty and the moments that make up my life. As a photographer, though, I always feel like it is my ultimate duty to do so. And wondering how it will be received is always in the back of my mind while I’m shooting. I’m actually convicted by how much these things do have a bearing on how I shoot a shot, or whether or not I even consider it worthy to be photographed. I’ve always believed that the beauty around us is meant to be shared and enjoyed. And I strive to do so. But recently, I’ve been having to remind myself that it’s OK to enjoy the moment. Put the camera down. Take it in. Snap a photo for yourself. For just yourself. Let that memory be yours and only yours. With all the snapping of the shutter, don’t forget that you will never get that moment back. You will never see what your eyes are seeing right then and there ever the same. And there is nothing that a camera can do to capture that.

Well as though we rise
As the day breaks the dawn
And as the moon hides the sun
Oh, the sun
No more sorrow
All those crying days are gone
No more sorrow, now it's gone
Now it's gone
Now it's gone

Because in our pain we must find each other – mirror to mirror the grace of our shared humanity, the stunningly broken beauty of our shared grief.
And you can let your grief see my grief and let our tears mingle into some kind of healing alchemy, and you’ll know what I know.
That we are never alone.
I promise. You and me? We are never, ever alone.

Backpedaling a bit to the amazing views of Slieve League in Ireland. Overlooking the cliffs was amazing, but the view at my back was also breathtaking. 360° of beautiful.
