Photo(s) and Video(s) of the day, 09/03/2026: Ambulances from Hawthorne and Wyckoff responded to a three (3) vehicle, Thursday afternoon, 09/03, chain reaction collision on Route 208 northbound near Grandview Avenue, Hawthorne that injured four (4) people. All of the victims, including a grandmother and two (2) of her grandchildren, were transported to The Valley Hospital in Paramus. Injuries to the victims appeared to have been non-life threatening in nature. Tow trucks were required for at least two (2) of the vehicles involved in the crash. Traffic on Route 208 northbound was restricted to the left travel lane as emergency responders worked, and was backed up for miles. Hawthorne PD and Wyckoff PD also responded to the incident. Photo(s) and Video(s) of the day, 09/03/2026: Five (5) individuals were injured in a head-on, Thursday morning, 09/03, collision at the intersection of Lafayette Avenue and Van Winkle Avenue, Hawthorne. Three (3) ambulances were required to transport the victims to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson. Hawthorne PD, Hawthorne FD, Hawthorne EMS, Passaic County Sheriff's Office EMS. and the Valley Hospital EMS & paramedic units & personnel all responded to the incident. Both heavily damaged vehicles were removed from the scene by tow trucks. A minor HazMat spill was attended to by Hawthorne FD firefighters. Passaic County Sheriff's Office Hawthorne PD

Photo(s) and Video(s) of the day, 08/29/2026: The driver of an all-electric BMW SUV told Glen Rock police officers that he/she was only "trying to park closer to the building" after his/her vehicle smashed into the front of a Maple Avenue nail salon late Saturday afternoon, 08/29. The vehicle came out the winner in the crash; it was driven away on its own power. However, the nail salon suffered significant crash related structural damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the mishap. Glen Rock PD and Glen Rock FD responded to the incident. Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department

Photo(s) and Video(s) of the day, 08/27/2026: Fair Lawn firefighters quickly extinguished a fire that originated in the attic of a vacant single-family home located in the 200 block of Grunauer Place on Thursday morning, 08/27. No injuries were reported in the 2-alarm blaze. A real estate agent who arrived on scene indicated that the home is currently for sale, with an open house to take place this coming weekend (not any more!). Fair Lawn OEM, Fair Lawn PD, Fair Lawn EMS, the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad, and a Borough of Fair Lawn building inspector also responded to the incident. Photo(s) of the day, 08/23/2026: A Hawthorne EMS ambulance rushed an individual who sustained several stab wounds to Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson late Sunday afternoon, 08/23. The victim, said to have been alert and conscious when first responders arrived, was transported from a multiple-family dwelling located in the 200 block of Westervelt Avenue, Hawthorne. Police at the scene released no information as to the severity of the victim's wounds, nor how they occurred. Several Hawthorne and Prospect Park police officers were seen entering the target dwelling and handling crowd control on the street. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Hawthorne EMTs. Photo(s) and Video(s) of the day, 08/22/2026: The rear end of a silver-colored Nissan sports car slammed through a fence after its driver lost control and spun out while making a right turn from Fair Lawn Parkway onto Berkshire Road, Fair Lawn on Saturday morning, 08/22. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was uninjured. A hydraulic lift tow truck extricated the vehicle from its predicament. Fair Lawn PD and Fair Lawn EMS responded to the incident. Photo(s) and Video(s) of the day, 08/11/2026: A mother and her young child were both seriously injured after being struck by a hit and run driver in Fair Lawn early Tuesday morning, 08/11. The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 AM at the intersection of Broadway and Fair Lawn Parkway. The two (2) victims were transported by separate ambulances to Hackensack University Medical Center's main campus. Traffic on eastbound Broadway was restricted to a single lane for an extended period to facilitate a complete investigation by Fair Lawn PD, who was assisted by the Bergen County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Criminal Identification and the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office. A older model silver colored Honda Pilot seen fleeing the scene shortly after the crash is reportedly a primary target in the investigation. Fair Lawn Police Department

Photo(s) and Video(s) of the day, 08/07/2026: A two (2) vehicle, Friday morning, 08/07, collision on Chestnut Street in Ridgewood forced one (1) of the involved vehicles into the front of a building housing a restaurant (below) and office space (above). No injuries were reported in the mishap and both vehicles were driven away by their respective owners. Damage to the struck building was cosmetic in nature only. Two (2) crash related summonses were issued by a Ridgewood PD Patrol Division officer. Ridgewood PD and Ridgewood FD/EMS personnel responded to the incident. Photo(s) and Video(s) of the day, 08/05/2026: The driver of a 4-door Honda Accord sustained minor injuries during a Wednesday morning, 08/05, rollover crash on Virginia Drive in Fair Lawn. The vehicle was said to have been traveling southbound on Route 208 when the driver lost control and careened off of Route 208, rolling over multiple times before crashing into the front of a garden apartment building on Virginia Drive. Prior to the arrival of first responders, the driver had self-extricated. A hydraulic lift tow truck righted the Honda and removed it from the scene. The struck building sustained only minor cosmetic damage. A Fair Lawn EMS ambulance transported the victim to a local hospital. Fair Lawn PD, Fair Lawn FD, and the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad also responded to the incident. Fair Lawn Police Department Fair Lawn Rescue Squad
