Not every wedding has to fit inside four walls.

You can say your vows beside icebergs in Alaska. On a quiet alpine ridge in Montana. Deep in the valley of Yosemite National Park with granite walls towering around you. Or somewhere no one else is watching but the wind, the trees, and the two of you.

That’s the beauty of eloping. There are no rules, just intention!

When you start dreaming about your day, don’t begin with what you think you should do. Start with how you want it to feel.

Peaceful? Adventurous? Slow? Joyful? Wild?

Then build a day around that.

Maybe it looks like:
– Watching the sunrise with coffee in hand
– Hiking to a place that feels unreal
– Reading private vows with zero distractions
– Celebrating with a picnic, a swim, or your favorite meal
– Inviting a few of your favorite humans… or keeping it just you two

Eloping isn’t about running away, it’s about choosing a day that reflects your relationship, your values and your priorities.

And yes, you really can get married in places that feel this big!!

The logistics (permits, timelines, locations) can all be figured out. The most important part is giving yourself permission to dream first.

Boat rides in Acadia are one of the most fun things to on elopement days there!

Whether it’s just the two of you or surrounded by family, getting to see the island and surrounding area via boat, spot some wildlife, and learn some fun facts about the region brings your elopement day to a whole other level!

Kate + Steven did just that with their close group of family and friends and it was the perfect way to kickoff their elopement celebration before their ceremony the next day.

Two days in Olympic National Park with Morgan and Al 💚

Olympic is such a vast national park, that if you’re wanting to explore all that it has to offer, a two day elopement gives us the space to do so.

These two started their elopement experience with some fishing on the river - something they love to do together.

As the day progressed, they shared a first look and butterfly release, a ceremony at Lake Crescent, and family photos up in the mountains.

Day two was their time to explore. We hiked through the Hoh rainforest, explored multiple beaches, and ended the day splashing in the pacific and searching for critters in tide pools. A comprehensive Olympic National Park elopement if you ask me!!

This park is one of my favorites and I can’t wait to be back in just a few months!! 🌲

Days in the mountains like these are just around the corner… 🌲🏔️

Eloping in the North Cascades can wildflowers, lakes, and private peaks all to yourselves.

✨ Go for sunrise, catch the light and skip the crowds
✨ Pick trails that match your adventure level. Generally the more you hike, the less crowds you’ll find 😉
✨ Bring layers, snacks, and someone who knows the area (🙋🏼‍♀️).

Glacier National Park has been on my mind today ✨

If you’re dreaming about eloping in Glacier National Park, here are a few things you’ll actually want to know before you start planning 👇

Glacier is one of those places that feels unreal. Alpine lakes, jagged peaks, wildflowers, and some of the most beautiful light you’ll ever see 🤤 Butttttt it also takes a little intention to plan a day that feels as good as it looks.

✨ Timing matters more than you think

July through September is the most accessible (hello, Going-to-the-Sun Road!!), but June and October can be quieter + just as magical if you’re open to flexibility.

✨ You do need a permit

Ceremony locations require a special use permit, and some spots have group size limits. It’s not hard to navigate, but it’s something you’ll want to plan ahead.

✨ Sunrise & sunset > midday

Not just for photos, but also for the experience. You’ll avoid crowds, have more privacy, and get that calm, peaceful energy Glacier is known for.

✨ Build a full-day experience

This isn’t just a quick ceremony and done kind of place. Think sunrise vows, a slow morning with coffee, a hike, maybe a picnic by an alpine lake (or even a paddle on said lake) and sunset to wrap it all up.

✨ Weather is part of the story

Glacier can throw anything your way, and I’ve pretty much seen it all. Wind, rain, sudden sun, even snow. The best days in Glacier are the ones where you lean into it instead of fighting it. And honestly, sometimes the dramatic weather makes it even better!

At the end of the day, eloping in Glacier is about creating a day that feels like you, surrounded by a place that makes you feel small in the best way.
