My name is Medora Stryker McGinnis, and I’m the founder and photographer. I grew up in Chesterfield County, studying photography and dancing with the Sch
ool of the Richmond Ballet. I live in Glen Allen in Henrico County with my wonderful husband, our four great kids, and a moderately large collection of animals. After attending college and nursing school, I began working as a hospital-based pediatric nurse, later transitioning to my current school nurse position here in Henrico County schools. I enjoy photography now as much as when I was young, and in fact, it’s in my genes. Stryker, was a professional photographer for over 50 years. He was my grandmother’s twin brother, so we were all very close; for my high school graduation, the present he shared with me was an old fashioned dark room enlarger. Photography was his passion, and something that he and I shared together. He has since passed away, and while I miss him dearly, I’m able to find a connection with him through my work with photography still today. When I’m not working as the school nurse or at a photography session, you can usually find me at home with my family. I love hanging out with our kids, enjoying as much time with them as possible! They do grow up so fast – our four kids are between ages 6-17, and they keep us very busy. I also enjoy taking romantic “date” trips to Starbucks with my hubby, watching our chickens fight over popcorn treats, and pinning recipes and crafts on Pinterest. I love working as a photographer and I hope this shows in my work ethic and in the end result, your beautiful images.
