I see a shift. More families are choosing to document their everyday instead of putting on a show for the camera and I’m absolutely here for it.

Look, I love a glam session. Golden hour, fabulous mama, babies snuggled up. That’s real too! But it’s not always the depiction of your actual life. It’s not always typical Tuesday.

This is Tuesday!! Kids on the counters, pancake mix, helping dad cook, real laughs, real moments. This is what your Tuesday actually looks like. This is what your kids will remember.

And when you see photos like this years from now, you’ll see how you really loved one another in the day to day.

I won’t lie. My fall is pretty full. But if this strikes your fancy I plan on doing in home sessions all winter into spring and I’d love love love to be a fly on your wall!

Can we talk about that phase where your kids look the same age and they’re definitely not?

Peeking into everyone’s first week of school really has me in my feels. I can’t believe how much all of your children have grown since I saw them last! It always takes me by surprise when it’s frozen in a photo. When two siblings look closer in age on camera than they are in real life it always gives me that reality check about how much they really can change in such a short period of time.

STORYTIME: I held onto this one because I love it so so much. Specifically the first image. This is exactly how I want my work to feel. Full of life. Full of abandon. No apologies.

I was going to submit it somewhere fancy. Then I got busy. And I missed it. And this week I woke up this week to congratulatory emails from two different publications I didn’t even know had nominated me. Oh how the turn tables. 🤪👏

My fall is booked solid. Not sure I’ll ever get used to working a seasonal job. Busy season is wild. My kids are back in school. I have three hours a day that belong to me again. And somewhere between the chaos, the pats on the back and the sessions coming up that I cannot wait to shoot, I realized I’ve arrived at this absolutely wild point in my life where I genuinely do not care what anyone else thinks. Call it perimenopause, call it being 37 but I LOVE this stage of feeling free to post what I WANT to post and not what is expected of me.

I have a ten-year-old who is about to turn eleven and he is recently starting to care SO MUCH about what people think. And watching him navigate that while I’m over here with very few cares and truly an inability to be embarrassed? It’s the weirdest thing.

I’m living the dream. Someone pinch me. Here’s to doing what you want. It’s highly underrated.

Had the sweetest morning running around the garden, the yard and the house with these cuties.

These photos are from our last session together and they’re a whole family of four now! Getting to see these guys frolic and play made my whole weekend. Watching and documenting families who are essentially growing up right behind me in “parenthood” is always the most bittersweet feeling because I get where they are and I can see where they’re headed in a way that even they can’t. I know you’ll miss the drool. I know you’ll miss the crazy. I know you’ll miss the new baby haze. Because everyone does 😍

So here’s the thing: you know you need fall family portraits. But trying to pick between a mini and a full session feels like an actual DECISION when really they’re both good, just different.

The difference comes down to your kid, your timeline, and what you actually want to walk away with. Most of my full session clients walk away with a coffee table album or wall art from our time together. If that’s not for you let’s try a mini this year!

I have had so many return clients book extended family sessions for this fall. I’m so excited! Big family sessions can get a little loud. A little chaotic. But the end result is always amazing.

You just show up and be together.
I guide you through it.
Keep things moving.
I make sure we capture everyone without it feeling stressful.

These sessions were never about getting everyone to look perfect.
They’re about documenting how it felt when you were all together.

Tomorrow is never promised. It’s always a good time to get the crew together and invite me along.
