This was so cool to photograph. What an amazing idea!

The community of Gillette is so blessed to have so many mental health professionals to choose from!

Free Indeed Counseling Services, Aspire Counseling, Whitney Nichole, Amber Suesan, Teigan Thole, (sorry wouldn’t let me tag all of your businesses or some names!!)

Counselors in Gillette, Wyoming came together in strength, connection, and solidarity through the Wyoming Counseling Association.

A special thank you to Gillette local Teigan Thole, WCA President-elect, for bringing everyone together and creating a space for encouragement, collaboration, and community among helping professionals.

Moments like these are a reminder that when counselors support one another, our communities grow stronger too. We are grateful for the compassion, wisdom, and heart shared in this space and proud of what we can accomplish together. 💙

My favorite part of family sessions is the segment of time given to individual fine art portraits of your children.

It allows adolescents a time to remove a mask and show a piece of themselves in a creative way.

Not them with the whole family. Not the siblings. Just them—alone, showing who they are.

It’s different than the other poses.

They aren’t holding the role as “daughter, sister, or family member,” they are just themselves—and it’s an important exercise in holding confidence in who they are and who they are becoming.

When I show parents the back of my camera while shooting, most are shocked.

Did my kid just pose like that?

Where did that fire in their eyes come from?

WHOA.

You look……amazing.

Our youth are full of a spark to be seen, heard, loved, and to take flight into their ambitions and passions.

Whenever I am photographing these moments, I am just filled with joy inside—because almost every single time their eyes say:

“This is me.

I’m not hiding.

I’m not pretending.

I might be young, but I’m smart and real.

This is who I am.

Do you see me?

I might be unsure, but I have the confidence to try.

Just watch me flourish.”

And that’s what it’s all about.
Capturing the real you.
Sharing your story—no one else can share it but you.

They aren’t just photos.

They are glimpses into the heart of each person, frozen in time to look back on and remember.

So that you will look at them and think to yourself:

“This was my kid. I’m so proud.

This is my family. I am so blessed.

Look how far we have come.

I can’t wait to see where we are going.”

These are the days. 🤍

The days that feel long sometimes, but somehow pass by in the blink of an eye. The messy, beautiful, ordinary moments that one day you’ll realize were actually the good old days.

Your beautiful, unique, and amazing family. ♥️

The way your kids reach for your hand without thinking.

The missing teeth, the little giggles, the way they still lean into you when they’re tired.

The personalities blossoming, the growth happening right in front of your eyes.

Watching them take on new challenges, make friends or teammates, learn with excitement, and grow with passion for the new experiences they are living each day.

Life moves so incredibly fast.

Seasons change, kids grow, and before you know it, summer has turned into another year of memories you wish you could bottle up forever.

You owe it to yourself to pause for just a moment and preserve this chapter.

Pick a date.
Mark the calendar.
Prioritize the photos.
