I don’t want our home to ever feel finished.

I want it to feel collected—like every room has slowly become ours over time. 🤍

Old paintings with chipped frames. Plates hung on the wall. Family photographs tucked between treasures. Books that have actually been read. Foraged flowers from the yard. Things passed down, thrifted, found on trips, or bought simply because we loved them.

Moving into a 1935 home has made me want to lean even further into that—a home that feels layered, a little imperfect, and like it has stories to tell.

Less decorating a room all at once, more letting a home become itself over time.

Because I think the best homes aren’t the most perfectly decorated ones… they’re the ones you can tell someone has really lived in and loved. 🕯️🏡

There was no theme, just a feeling.

I wanted a homemade dinner on the deck, candlelight, and the people who have carried us through one of the biggest seasons of our lives.

After multiple attempts to plan a baby shower in Arizona, it just never came together. I accepted that it probably wasn’t going to happen. Then my cousin stepped in, gathered everyone, and made it all happen in our new home. Family traveled from Washington, California, Nevada, and Utah, and felt so great to be together again!

It became a celebration of our baby girl, our new home, and every friend and family member who helped us get here. After moving across states, unpacking boxes, and preparing to welcome our third daughter, gathering everyone around the table felt like the sweetest way to pause and simply say, thank you.

Everything was homemade. Every detail was chosen with love. No over-the-top decorations—just an Oregon summer evening, good food, candlelight, laughter, and the people we love most.

Just 9 days later, our sweet Annemarie Josephine made her entrance into the world. Looking back, this evening feels like the cheers before the most beautiful chapter yet. 🥂

These are the kinds of gatherings that become part of your family’s story. The ones you’ll still talk about years from now. 🤍

Two weeks until we get to meet our baby girl. 🤍 (or sooner countdown is on!)

The wait almost feels unfair. It feels like torture some days.

I love her so much already, and it’s taking everything in me to be patient through the aches, the sleepless nights, and the pain my body feels as we get closer.

Andrew keeps reminding me that the moment she’s placed in my arms, I’ll forget about all of it. And he’s right.

It’s amazing how quickly the hard memories begin to fade when you’re overwhelmed by a love so deep it fills every part of you.

Just two more weeks until we finally meet the little girl we’ve been dreaming about. I already know she’s worth every single second of this wait…now if we can just figure out her name!

BTW I’ve been loving using a vintage silver tray over my sink, it makes me feel very much like Elizabeth James from the parent trap. Also I have a very small bathroom counter so it helps give me more “counter space” by using the tray.
