I had this really powerful conversation today at a consult about being an “artist” which is a term I struggle with. Not because I don’t think I create a really wonderful product and experience. But because the magic in the room is a co-creation of the two of us. It’s when you feel free in your body. It’s when you feel safe enough to play in front of the camera.

It’s when we both go into a shoot knowing your story, and the energy in the room is all the places you’ve been and all the places you’re going.

The work of art is YOU. And you did that long before I entered the room. I just help you see it.

I get to do this for a living, which is kind of bananas when I think about it.

I get to sit with you in the uncertainties and the unknowns, but also in the biggest dreams you could ever dream.

I get the absolute honor of seeing you in some of your most vulnerable moments - moments of letting your guard down just enough to feel how absolutely beautiful/powerful/capable you are.

When I step back and think about my own wildest dreams in life, this is it. I am currently living it while I’m in the room with you.

So I want to thank you. For trusting me with the unknowns and the big dreams. You showing up for yourself is a reason I get to show up for my own dreams as well. ❤️

Consider this your official (and literal) sign from the universe.

If you’re an entrepreneur, a many-hat-wearer, a person who gives a lot and checks in with yourself approximately never... it might be time to get honest about what you actually want and need. And just so we’re clear: those things are not a burden. They’re actually the doorway to becoming the most at-peace and abundant version of yourself.

I say all this because it’s been on my mind this week and something I needed to hear too. So this morning I slowed down enough to write a pep talk for all of us.

There are people who hype you up, and then there are people who restructure how you think about yourself. Amy is the second kind.

She’s a marketing strategist, public speaker, and the person in the room who makes everyone else braver just by being there. She’s on a mission to help women-owned businesses find their voice, and she just launched a full rebrand AND an entirely new arm of her business to do exactly that. I’ve been so lucky to witness it come to life from behind my camera (as well as countless audio texts sent back and forth haha).
