Where do I even begin?
Photography has been such a huge part of my life. For the last 12 years, it's been something I've loved deeply. Life has taken me away from it a few times, but somehow I always found my way back.
To every client who trusted me, to those who have been with me since the very beginning, to those who stayed loyal through the years, and even to those who simply supported me from afar….thank you. You have meant more to me than you'll ever know. ❤️
This isn't an easy post to write…..
I recently created my own presets and had every intention of releasing them at the end of the summer. But over the last several weeks, my heart has been wrestling with something…
The truth is... my heart just isn't in photography anymore.
That hurts to admit because photography has never just been a job to me. It was my passion. I poured every ounce of my heart into every session, every gallery, and every image I delivered. I was completely obsessed with creating art and preserving memories for people.
Somewhere along the way, that feeling changed.
Maybe it's because I've grown. Maybe it's because life has changed. Maybe after 12 years it's simply time for a new chapter. Whatever the reason, I know it wouldn't be fair to continue taking on new clients when I can't give them the same passion that built this business in the first place.
I've never been in photography for the money. If you've known me for any amount of time, you know I've often undercharged because I truly believed everyone deserved beautiful memories hanging on their walls. That has always mattered more to me than a paycheck.
My children are growing up…one already far too fast, and my other, still so little. I've also discovered a new passion that I'm incredibly excited about, and I know it's going to require my full attention. As someone who is always juggling a hundred things, I've had to accept that I can't keep pulling myself in every direction. Sometimes slowing down and giving one dream your whole heart is the right thing to do.
So, with that being said...
I will be finishing the sessions I already have scheduled through the end of this year. After that, Nickole Sharpe Photography will officially close its doors.🚪
I will be deleting my photography social media pages, and this time, I won't be coming back. I may even sell my camera gear... just to keep myself from being tempted. 😜
As bittersweet as this is, I don't look at these last 12 years with sadness. I look back with overwhelming gratitude.
I've been blessed with the most incredible clients. You've trusted me with your engagements, weddings, pregnancies, birthdays, and families. You've allowed me to witness some of the most important moments of your lives, and that is something I will never take for granted.
I'm so proud of the art we've created together, and I'm even more grateful for the friendships and memories that came from it.
Thank you for believing in me.
Thank you for supporting me.
Thank you for loving my work for all these years.
I truly love each and every one of you, and I can't wait to see where this next chapter leads.
With all my love,
Nickole ❤️
Farewell... and thank you for an unforgettable 12 years.
