Checking on all my newborn clients and families and seeing if you need anything ahead of the winter storm?

Baby preparedness for possible power outages:
-Make sure you have plenty of clean bottles and pump parts
- back up batteries or power sources for breast pumps -bottled water for mixing formula
- plenty of heat sources for yourself and baby and ways to warm bottles if power goes out.

Babies typically have better chances of regulating temperature at 12 months before that they rely on their care givers

Make sure they are bundled up safely.
Keep loose clothing and materials away from the face.
Body heat will be the best way to help them regulate temperature. Make sure you have ways to keep yourself warm incase of a power outage and keep them close to you.

-make sure you are still eating enough calories to keep milk production up by having non perishable food items ready.

Play is a very important part of sessions for a variety of reasons. Not only does it develop these new special memories for you and your children, but can also make them feel more connected to you and more comfortable. Bonus is I get to capture real authentic moments instead of posed ones and the smiles are much more natural. Sessions that’s don’t feel forced are the ones both you and your children want to show up for. More than anything children want to play, connect, and spend time with their parents and this gives you a beautiful opportunity to engage with them.
