🏆 Honored and Grateful!

I’m excited to share that I have been awarded the Sport Lens Award by Camerapixo Press in the Sports Photography category!

Every sporting event presents a new opportunity to capture determination, teamwork, and unforgettable moments. This award reminds me why I love standing on the sidelines with a camera—freezing moments that athletes and families will remember for years to come.

A heartfelt thank you to Camerapixo Press, the Independent Visual Journalism Association, and everyone who has supported Serenity Sports and Serenity Photo over the years.

This recognition inspires me to continue telling powerful stories through photography.

Thank you for being part of my journey!

Some stories come full circle
and this is one of them.

Back in 2023, I had the opportunity to photograph twin sisters Taylor Barbot and Taryn Barbot during their high school senior banner day. I created their banners and captured moments from their senior game — and even then, you could see it
 something special.

Not just talent — but a bond.

They’ve been playing basketball together since they were seven years old đŸ„č
Side by side, growing, competing, pushing each other every step of the way.

Fast forward to today — they’re continuing that journey at the next level with the Charleston Cougars women’s basketball, chasing history and their first NCAA tournament win 👏

And the stage doesn’t get much bigger

They’re facing the Duke Blue Devils women’s basketball at Cameron Indoor Stadium — one of the most iconic arenas in college basketball. A tough task, no doubt
but the beauty of this game is simple:

You never know what’s going to happen until that final whistle blows.

As someone who now serves as a school photographer connected to the Saint Mary’s Gaels women’s basketball, moments like this hit even deeper. Watching athletes grow from high school seniors into collegiate competitors
 it’s powerful.

I’m grateful I was there at the beginning of their journey.

Wishing Taylor and Taryn nothing but success as they continue writing their story.

Today at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, we celebrated Women’s Day in a powerful and inspiring way. The service centered on the message from James 1:22–24, reminding us to be doers of the Word, not just hearers.

The women led the entire service with faith, wisdom, and strength, sharing messages that encouraged everyone to live out what we believe each day.

And in true spirit of service, the men took on kitchen duties, making sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. It was a beautiful example of unity, humility, and working together as one church family.

A wonderful day of worship, fellowship, and reflection.

Some moments you plan.

Some moments just happen, just when invited us to the dance floor.

The first night, I stood behind the camera capturing the performance.

The second night, my wife and I found ourselves slow dancing under those same lights.

Music has a way of bringing everything into focus.

Grateful for the experience...and even more grateful for the dance.
