Some road trips give you exactly what you planned. Others hand you a completely different adventure.
Driving home from Georgia, my route took me through **Great Smoky Mountains National Park just outside Gatlinburg, Tennessee**—and suddenly, getting home wasn’t nearly as important as slowing down and looking around.
Mountain streams rushed over moss-covered rocks. Winding roads disappeared beneath towering trees. The bright blue sky made the scenery practically beg for another photo stop. And then there were the elk, quietly resting along the way. 🦌🏔️📷
It was a beautiful reminder of why I love road trips: you never really know what might be waiting around the next bend.
I’ve put together a new **Great Smoky Mountains Tennessee Travel Guide**, sharing the scenery, wildlife, waterways, scenic driving, and what you can experience just beyond Gatlinburg.
