I’ve gotta give a HUGE thank‑you to Chris Coté and Todd Richards for answering my question on the Monday M.A.S.S. podcast (aka Monday Mass). 🙌🎙️🔥

Hearing them dive into this topic absolutely made my day!
If you’ve been following my mission toward 200 days on snow, you already know I’ve been deep in the debate of what actually counts as a snowboard day.
Questions like:
• Does it only count if the lifts are spinning?
• Does uphill touring count?
• How many turns do you need?
• How much effort qualifies as a “real” day?
I figured if anyone could answer this with authority, it would be Todd and Chris — and they delivered.
What I loved is that they didn’t just give a technical answer. They went deep into the philosophy of riding — the effort, the ritual, the culture, the commitment. Loading your gear. Driving to the mountain. Strapping in. Hiking. Surfing. Skating. Showing up. All of it.
Their conversation turned into something way bigger than counting days.
The Monday M.A.S.S. podcast is incredible because it feels like hanging out in the parking lot after a session — talking snowboarding, surfing, skating, life, travel, Star Wars, and everything action‑sports people love.
The May 18, 2026 episode is especially awesome. They cover everything from the CARV Expo in San Diego to this whole debate about defining a real day on snow. As someone who attended the old ASR trade shows, their discussion was a total time‑warp down memory lane.
Todd’s answer?
Classic Todd. Simple. Direct. And somehow deep if you truly love riding.
I won’t spoil the whole thing — you should absolutely go listen to the episode yourself — but they even talk about late‑season riding at A‑Basin, which made it even better.
After hearing their take, I think a LOT of riders are going to rethink the days they almost didn’t count.
Huge thanks again to Chris Coté and Todd Richards — absolute legends. 🙌🔥🏂
