Albany friends! Stellicopter Photography is doing a model call for a photography workshop! Get some beautiful photos of your pups!

🐾 MODEL CALL | CHASING COMMUNICATION

Stellicopter Photography is searching for four distinctly different canine personalities for an upcoming photography workshop in collaboration with the Albany Photography Group.

This isn't your typical model call.

I'm looking for dogs with character. The expressive, the intense, the quietly observant, and the beautifully unconventional. Dogs whose individuality gives us something worth capturing.

Chasing Communication is a workshop built around understanding the dog before pressing the shutter. We'll explore how canine body language, motivation, expression, and anticipation influence the photographs we create.

And for that, I need four very different subjects.

THE ATHLETE
Ideally, a Border Collie with a strong work ethic, toy motivation, and experience in dog sports. I'm looking for focus, intensity, anticipation, and a reliable off switch.

THE QUIET OBSERVER
A calm, steady dog, preferably with a darker coat. This model will help demonstrate the subtleties of expression, natural light, and the importance of finding detail within shadows.

THE INDIVIDUALIST
An expressive dog with distinctive features, interesting body language, or a personality that refuses to go unnoticed. This model will help us explore composition, perspective, and character.

THE LITTLE PERSONALITY
A smaller breed with plenty of character. This model will introduce different challenges in perspective, positioning, and composition.

Purebred or mixed breed, titled competitor or professional couch potato - I'm interested in the individual, not the pedigree.

🐾 THE DOGS COME FIRST. ALWAYS.

This is nonnegotiable.

Our canine models are not props. Their comfort, emotional well-being, and willingness to participate will take precedence over every photograph.

Each dog will have a dedicated handler, short shooting sessions, scheduled breaks, and a quiet space to decompress. Additional breaks will be provided whenever needed.

Handlers will have complete discretion to pause or end their dog's participation at any time.

No forced interactions. No unnecessary pressure. No photograph worth compromising a dog's welfare.

Selected models will receive complimentary professionally edited portraits from Stellicopter Photography as a thank-you for participating.

I'm looking for four individuals who can help photographers understand that the most compelling photographs often begin long before the camera comes into play.

And with the end of the Del-Otse-Nango Kennel Club Fall Fast CAT, that's a wrap on Fast CAT season!

What a wonderful event! I always love photographing for DONKC, and this weekend was no exception. This club is truly something special, and it shows in their events! If you haven't had a chance to attend a DONKC event yet, make that a goal for 2027!!! A great big thanks also goes out to Hudson Valley Lure Coursing for their safe and expert lure operating too!!

Curious about photos and videos? Here's what you need to know!

• I took over 18,000 photos this weekend, so it will probably take me a few days to sort through them.

Taking your Fast CAT photos from "meh" to "WOW!!!"

There's a few things you can do to help your photographer capture the best photos of your dog playing their favorite game. If there's three things I wish every catcher would do for photos, it's:

1. Back up. The photos will be higher quality, your legs won't be in them, and your dog will run faster!

2. Tell me if the dog is a bag grabber. If I have even a few seconds of advance notice, I can back up and improve the chances of getting that coveted bag shot!

3. Interact with your dog. You're having fun and your dog is having fun. Let me capture the joy you both have by spending a few seconds playing or having fun together! You don't have to spend so much time that you delay the event; even 5-10 seconds gives me more time to capture that moment.

PREORDERS ARE OPEN FOR Del-Otse-Nango Kennel Club FAST CAT VIDEOS!

What you need to know:

- I am offering videos on Saturday only.

- Videos are by PREORDER ONLY. You will not be able to request them at the event.

- Video preorders close tomorrow afternoon (Friday) at 7pm.

- If you preorder video, I will do video of your dog's first run and photos of their second. If anything goes wrong with the video on the first run, I will video their second run.

- Video preorders are nonrefundable except in cases where you scratch your dog.
