One Texan's Trash Is Another Texan's Treasure

One Texan's Trash Is Another Texan's Treasure Thank you for visiting to One Texan's Trash! Family owned non-profit dedicated to recycling and repairing reusable items back to you and the community.

Let's be smarter than yesterday and pay it forward. We have transitioned over the years in many ways, but due to COVID, we have decided that we will protect ourselves, and you, by not entering homes and not making physical contact with anyone. Instead, we will go back to our original ways of “picking” and donating those repaired items back out to folks that really need them. We will also continue

to assist the elderly/handicapped in their needs, clear the roads of debris, and do all we can to help churches, schools, daycares, families, and more. You will still see us out there in the community doing our thing, but as of August of 2021, we have stopped offering the following services:

SERVICES NO LONGER OFFERED:
• We no longer accept random drop off donations and now must be scheduled.
• We no longer offer pickup or delivery services of repaired products.
• We no longer offer in-house call repair except for the elderly/handicapped.
• We no longer accept large furniture or appliances as donations.
• We no longer allow visitors inside the shop for training/education/observation.
• We no longer offer garage sale or storage facility cleaning/clear-outs.
• We no longer offer pallet buyer tool repair services.
• We no longer offer lawn equipment maintenance. WHY WE DO IT: If you read and made it this far, you may wonder why we do all of this and not make a single penny of profit. That is because I was raised by Karma and she likes when we give back with no expectation of a return. The world is a greedy and deceiving place of which folks have forgotten honesty, devotion, care, etc. Instead, we only seem to try to find new ways to take advantage of each other and tell ourselves it is something else so we can accept what we have done. I choose to not lie to myself about who I am and instead be the change that humanity needs by setting this example and hope you too pay it forward someday.

Old chimenea was bought at auction and had a lot of dirt and algae growth from being outside for so long. After a good scrubbing and bringing it back to its base clay color, I found it had no character. Age shows beauty so I used a high heat paint to give it a copper tarnish look as well as the stand!

Good day folks!

We are seeking art supplies of any kind to help out the schools in the area. They have reached out to me asking for help as the teachers cannot afford these supplies with their salary and generally have to travel to get what they need. GISD and our yearly taxes do not cover this!

Each student usually will cost the teachers an average of $250 per semester and the amount they ask parents to pay is only 10% of this, the rest they have to cover which is not fair to them.

If you have anything you would like to donate for this cause, please let us know!

To all the teachers out there, THANK YOU for all you do for our children!

Found this lil guy sitting in a pile of junk today. It was in pretty bad shape. But at the same time, was an easy restoration. I decided to keep the exterior shell as it was instead of repainting as I felt it make it look older and with character. But now, it's fully functional with a new clock face and hands! Took only 20min to redo and boom, a cool lookin clock.

Bought a damaged Grandmother Clock for $25. All the parts were there but had some damage to the movement, weights, and bells from the prior owner. Overall, didnt work at all when bringing it home.

After some cleaning, tweaking, repairing, and some love, it's now back in perfect working order! Another piece for my collection!

Wanted to give a quick shout out to the folks that have donated their items to us this Spring! You've made a huge difference this season with your generosity!

Many of us have all we need and then some, all while others don't have much of anything. This season we were able to furnish clothing to children & adults, bicycles, fans, window AC units, mowers, furniture, school supplies, scooters, mopeds, books, medical supplies, and more to the folks that truly needed them! Thank you ALL for your tremendous efforts, generous donations, and most of all, your caring hearts. You ARE what makes humanity, Human.

Received a non working fan from what appears to be the 1970s.

After some cleaning, restoring, and tweaking, it’s now back as if it were new and with some cool colors too!
