Sandhill Cranes are very large, tall birds with a long neck, long legs, and very broad wings. They average three to four feet tall with a wingspan that can be over five feet!

They are most easily found in marshy areas at sunrise and sunset, although they can also be found in freshly plowed fields, where they like to forage for insects and worms.
