I photographed her as a newborn. The awake photo is her during her newborn session. 🤗

And 7 years later, I got to photograph her holding her brand new baby sister. 💗

There is no higher compliment than a family coming back and trusting me with another new baby.

When you’re in the middle of the newborn stage, it can feel long.

The feeding.
The healing.
The tiredness.
The figuring-it-out.
The wondering if you’re doing everything right. Or if you’re doing anything right?

And then somehow, the tiny baby becomes the big sister.

That’s why I care so much about preserving these first weeks.

Not just quickly.
Not just casually.

But with intention, care, and beauty.

Because this beginning deserves to be remembered as more than something you got through.

After 15 years of photographing babies and growing families, this still gets me.

You can’t slow down how quickly they change.

But you can decide how you’ll preserve the beginning 😍

For 15 years, I somehow managed to build a newborn photography business while keeping my face almost completely off social media.

I posted photos. Families found me. Clients referred their friends.

And honestly, it worked pretty well.

But somewhere along the way, things changed.

Not because beautiful photos stopped mattering. They absolutely do.

Trust still matters. Experience still matters. Referrals still matter.

But if I were looking for someone to photograph my brand-new baby today, I’d probably want to know more than what their portfolio looks like.

I’d want to know who they are.

Which is slightly inconvenient because staying comfortably behind the camera has been my preferred strategy for the last 15 years. 😅

But I get it.

If I were inviting someone into my home and handing them my brand-new baby, I’d want to get a feel for them too.

So here I am.

Popping my comfortable little photography bubble.

Stepping out from behind the camera.

And discovering that after 15 years in business, there’s still plenty left to learn.

I’d genuinely love to know:

Most new parents have no idea what to expect before a newborn session… and honestly, that’s normal because you’re currently surviving on snacks and 27 minutes naps.

This a quick overview at what happens after booking, from planning and prep to the actual session day.

The goal is simple, make the experience feel calm, easy, and fully guided for the sleep deprived new parents. For in-home sessions there’s even less to do, I will bring everything needed, all I need is a 6’ x 6’ space to set up my gear 💗
