Remember, time doesn't stand still just because you do

This building is called "The Broad" and is located in Los Angles right next to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. It's a contemporary art museum that opened in 2015 and was named for philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, whom financed the building which is estimated to be a whopping 140 million and currently houses the Broad art collections. The building itself was designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler and Leslie E. Robertson Associates. The honeycomb like exterior is based on the "the veil and the vault" style design concept which allows natural light into the indoor space without direct sunlight. The exterior skin consists of 2500 rhombodial panels of fiberglass reinforced concrete that is supported by a 650 ton steel substructure. The "vault" itself is a concrete structure that forms the core of the building. The three story museum has 50,000 square feet of exhibition space, 35,000 of which is colum-free gallery space.

Death Valley is one of those places that will take your breath away. It's sheer scale covers so much geographic diversity. It's climate, wildlife, topography and history is so amazing that it's hard to put into words. If you ever have a chance to visit don't pass up the opportunity. You won't be disappointed.
