UTMB President Jochen Reiser, MD to provide the Galveston Community with information on important accomplishments at UTMB in the past year at the town hall meeting.

UTMB will mark 135 years since its founding on Monday, Oct. 5, with a Town Hall from noon to 1 p.m. in the William C. Levin Hall Auditorium on the Galveston Campus.

Dr. Reiser will highlight accomplishments from the past year and discuss the FY27 priorities that will guide work across clinical care, education, research, and innovation. A Founder’s Day celebration will follow in the Levin Hall foyer.

As the Port of Galveston grows, community and stakeholder engagements have and will continue to be a priority. In this week's column, Port Director and CEO Rodger Rees discusses why and how the port shares information and seeks public input on port projects.

"We’re a public entity, a tenant port, major regional economic driver, and one of the biggest cruise ports in the U.S. I make these points to emphasize the responsibilities and accountabilities we have to the Galveston community, our port partners and our cruise customers, to name a few."
