Today, we honor a woman who reminded generations of women that being feminine never meant being weak—and being confident never meant making yourself smaller for anyone else.
Dolly Parton showed us that a woman could be glamorous, ambitious, intelligent, sensual, compassionate, funny, powerful, and completely unapologetic about who she was.
She never dimmed herself to make other people more comfortable.
She dreamed big, worked hard, built an empire, and then used her success to lift others along the way. She proved that you can love the pretty things, embrace your femininity, know your worth, and still be one hell of a force in this world.
And one of the things I admire most about Dolly is the way she celebrated other women instead of treating them like competition.
That’s something I want to carry into this bo***ir community.
A space where women remind other women that…
You’re allowed to feel beautiful.
You’re allowed to feel sexy.
You’re allowed to be soft AND strong.
You’re allowed to be loud, glamorous, ambitious, confident, and take up every damn inch of space you deserve.
You don’t have to shrink yourself.
You don’t have to apologize for loving yourself.
And you certainly don’t need anyone’s permission to become the woman you want to be.
So here’s to the women who refuse to make themselves smaller.
Be bold. Be soft. Be sexy. Be ambitious. Be YOU.
And take up the damn space. 🖤
