I have been planning to visit Cherry Springs State Park for a while but could not make it happen. Finally last week I stopped by there for couple hours and it was worth it. Lots of astro lovers gathered to watch the show of the heaven. Loved the time there.

Chasing Stars on Trail Ridge Road: My First Milky Way Panorama

A little over a year ago, I found myself driving along the highest paved road in the USA—Trail Ridge Road in the Rocky Mountains—at 12 AM. Even though I didn’t have much idea about how to shoot a panorama I gave it a shot being setting up for a timelapse.

Despite not having much experience, I’m thrilled that my first attempt didn’t go in vain. The result might not be perfect, but it’s a reminder of the magic you can capture when you step out of your comfort zone. I’m already looking forward to the next time, knowing it can only get better from here.

I tried so hard and got only this far!

My recent visit to Acadia was nothing but nights of broken heart. With so much hope and planning I drove 13 hours there to shoot some stunning milkyway scapes. But the waether was not in my favor. It was pouring everyday and nights were filled with clouds. Eventhough after my relentless effort I could not get a good enough window to get some satisfacory shots. This was takan from a beach just out of my cabin in Scoodic Peninsula. Hopefully next time Acadia sky will be clear enough for me to get some memorable shots.

My Lucky Shot at 13th lake!

Even half an hour before I started shooting, I did not know I would be at the location. I did not know if it will rain as the forecast said, or coulds will be there. I just decided to go and take a chance. I went to the lake without knowing anything about the trail. But end of the night I got lucky. Once I arrived at the boat landing at around 12 am, the Milkyway was smiling at me. I could see the arch in naked eye. I felt so greatful to God for allowing me to witness such beauty of his creation. Everytime I shoot the stars I feel so insignificant in comparison to the infinity of the space. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Bear Lake, mountains and the dreamy sky.

A crispy, windy night with clear sky. What else you need as an astrophotographer. Milkyway raising over the Rocky Mountain and captured from Bear Lake. Because of the wind did not get much reflection on the lake I am still happy with the overall result.

It was an amazing experience to shoot at 11,716 feet of elevation from Forest Canyon Overlook. It was cold, windy and mostly quiet. Eventhough the clouds were present it was not a big deal. Some light pollution from nearby Estes Park, Colorado camperground created an orange falvor at the left corner. I would definitely love to take that cold again to shoot a better shot there.

Milkyway kissing the Letchworth upper falls. It was such wonderful night of August. A lot of astro lovers showed up before sunset which went up as time passed by. Apparently snaping the milkyway over the center of the Geneesee Arc bridge is most popular. This bridge was originally built in 1875. We were lucky to see the train pass by. Would love to pay another visit someday.
