Currently on an amazing road trip through Yellowstone National Park, Teton National Park, Glacier National Park and Banff Canada!!! Photos will follow shortly!! we have seen so much wild life, waterfalls, and amazing scenery! These are all on my professional camera and once I get them put together, I will be uploading our photos.

A GALENA PROPOSAL - Ashley thought she was just in Galena celebrating Father’s Day with her family.....

Little did she realize the love of her life Charlie had been planning a surprise proposal for over 6 months!!!

She thought he was working back in Chicago but to her surprise as her and the family were strolling through Grant Park on their way to dinner he revealed himself from behind a tree.

From there he walked her over to the sidewalk so the beautiful view of downtown Galena could be captured in the background as he dropped to one knee. Robyn Basten photographer Galena, IL

My Story

Hi everyone and thank you for taking the time to check out my page! My name is Robyn Basten and I am the face behind the camera for Reflections by Robyn Photography. I have a passion for creating beautiful fine art images that reflect the world around you, the essence of your relationships, and the moments you experience. I enjoy all things photographic! I started off in landscape and nature and have expanded my photography to include portraits, family and lifestyle, pets, and real-estate.

I am originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and currently reside in the picturesque town of Galena, IL. I love the beauty this area and the mid-west has to offer. I was raised in the county and spent much time with my dad visiting farms and enjoying the rural lifestyle. Most of my photography is based outdoors and I prefer to use natural light, although I do have a studio in my home for head shot portraiture.

I am married to an amazing man who accompanies me on many photographic assignments. He is my rock and my support in anything I want to accomplish in life. Between the two of us we have four children. My adult daughter and son live in Iowa and my two step sons live with us in Galena. We have an adorable granddaughter and a grandson on the way whom I can’t wait to photograph! I have two cats, Izzy and Ollie which I adore and who are often my models when I need something to photograph.

I am always looking to create new memories and experiences in my photographic journey. I would be honored to capture reflections of your memories as timeless images you can enjoy for years to come.
