Two days at Luna Ridge A-Frame Cabin in the middle of fall just wasn’t enough. 🍁 🍃🍂

Slow mornings with coffee in hand, watching the morning light fill the A-frame, quickly became my favorite way to start the day. No rushing out the door, just getting cozy and enjoying being there.

Then came evenings by the fire, watching the last bit of sunlight hit the tops of the mountains before ending the night under the stars in the stargazing dome. I kept wishing I had just one more morning, one more sunset, one more night.

There’s nothing like fall in the Southeast, and stays like this remind me why I love it so much. 🤎

Slowing things down a little lately, and honestly, it’s been much needed.

Tucked away at jcdlodging, where my only worries were what book to read, keeping the fire going, and finding time to sit down and write. Sometimes the simplest moments are the ones we need the most.

Experiencing fall in Breckenridge, Colorado, from a property with views like these was truly unmatched. 🏔️🍂

Between the crisp mountain air, changing colors, and waking up to those incredible views, it was everything you could ask for in a mountain getaway.

And honestly, it just made me that much more excited for what’s coming this winter. Especially knowing this place is less than 10 minutes from downtown Breckenridge and the gondola for a full day of snowboarding. 👀🏂

Fall was incredible, but I have a feeling winter here is going to be something special. ❄️

If you’re planning a fall road trip through the Southeast this year, here’s one scenic route you’ll want to add to your itinerary! 🍁 🍃🍂

Start in North Georgia and make your way through Tallulah Falls, taking your time to explore the winding mountain roads, rivers, lakes, and overlooks along the way.

From there, head toward Whitewater Falls near the North Carolina and South Carolina border, where you’ll find some incredible waterfalls surrounded by beautiful fall colors.

If you have some extra time, continue north through the mountains of North Carolina for even more scenic drives, overlooks, and places to explore!

There’s really no better way to experience fall in the Southeast than slowing down, taking the back roads, and enjoying the journey just as much as the destination.

If you’re hoping to catch colors like these this year, mark your calendars for late October through early November! Peak colors will vary depending on elevation and weather, but this is a beautiful window to explore the region.

The best part about staying in Arvada, Colorado? You don’t have to choose between the mountains, the city, or simply slowing down for a few days. 🏔️

Spend the morning heading toward the mountains, explore everything nearby, or make the short trip into Denver for the day. And when you’re ready to come back and relax, there’s really no reason to leave.
Take a dip in the pool, play some putt putt, unwind in the hot tub or sauna, or head downstairs for a game of pool while watching the game.

Whether your idea of a Colorado getaway is getting out and exploring or having absolutely nowhere you need to be, this is the kind of stay that lets you do a little bit of both.
