Sunset over Camp Crystal

I was downloading photos from my trusty Leica X Vario and found that I has never gotten to the ones I took at Camp Crystal (not THAT Camp Crystal, the much more family friendly one one in Gainesville) during my time chaperoning my daughters' fifth grade field trip. This was taken on the second night and it happened quick. This photo needed little post processing as nature did most of the work, I just happened to be lucky enough to catch it!

Layin’ around

Honey rests peacefully on a rug at a rustic AirBNB in historic Brunswick, Georgia. We don't always bring the pup as is adds a whole different spin on the trip, but its always fun and she does great. The bricked in fireplace did't provide any warmth, but its a good placeholder for that cozy-at-home feeling.

Headed out to the beach

I was told there were rattlesnakes here. Lots of them. But as is my luck there were not any snakes here. Only I can come to the beach and be disappointed not to find snakes, but at least I was on the beach! Family portait

This family of barn owls was less than happy with my interest in them. If you have ever been around barn owls in a nest, they make crazy noises and do this strange dance which is meant to scare you away. Seeing these owls all do this at one time was creepy, but they went back to sleep moments after I left them, leaving me with this haunted vision for years.

Shells

This is one of the rare photos I do not remember where it was taken. I know it was on the beach (obviously) and I know I used my trusty Leica D-Lux 4, but only two other photos were taken that day. Regardless, a nice photo of a collection of shells on an unknown beach. A good time must have been had!

Party at the Road to Nowhere

We recently visited North Carolina and were close to the famous Road to Nowhere just outside Bryson City, so I of course had to get some photos and captured this. A family was having a great time at the opposite end of the tunnel and having a spirited conversation about government affairs with the occasional whoop or holla to hear the echo of the tunnel. Good times were had by all. More photos from the trip to come:)
