Memories by JMF

Memories by JMF Honest photography for every moment in life. Photography, to me, has two parts; the technical side and communication.

All images have the power to tell a story, and it is my privilege to capture special moments in people's lives. Whether it is a wedding, welcoming a new baby home, or just a much needed family portrait, my true love is to use my technical skills and knowledge to document and preserve precious memories, just for you.

The first job I was ever paid for was singing at a wedding, when I was in 7th grade. In the last year and a half, I've finally returned to my musical roots.

Getting to practice and sightread and perform again has been an incredible experience. But more than that, I'm so grateful that music has brought me into this incredible group of people. Singing with these two (and the rest of our choir, accompanists included) is something I look forward to each week.

For the first time, in partnership with the Florida Wildflower Foundation, I'm adding graduation sessions to our wildflower line up. This weekend, Saturday 5/9 and Mother's Day, 5/10, are our last Wildflower Sessions of the season. Please make sure you book yours before it's time to harvest the seeds from another year in bloom 🌼

Are you graduating from the University of Florida or Santa Fe this semester?

Come celebrate all of your hard work, accomplishments, and joy, with me.

For the first time ever, I'm offering grad sessions in the wildflower field, this year.

πŸŒΌπŸŽ“πŸŒΌ Bring your cap and gown, some good waterproof shoes/boots, and your sense of whimsy πŸŒΌπŸŽ“πŸŒΌ

While I love a good grad session on campus, the wildflower field is pure magic. When I realized the timing of the bloom lines up with the end of the semester, I felt like it was too wonderful a coincidence to ignore.

Book your private session through this link:
https://lnkd.in/eG_fGPBK

Bonus: when you book a wildflower session for your graduation, I donate a portion of the session fee to the Florida Wildflower Foundation to support all the amazing things they do for our pollinators and natural world.

Reach out to learn more about sharing a wildflower session with the person/people who are graduating with you.

I also offer a limited number of traditional graduation sessions on campus graduation, by request only. Email me at [email protected] for more information.

This post is for all the people who would LOVE a Wildflower Photo Session for Mother's Day to share with the person (or people) who may get you a Mother's Day gift.

Our 2026 Wildflower Photo Sessions are posted and ready to be booked!

This year is extra special because the Florida Wildflower Foundation has sent us packets of native wildflower seeds to share with anyone who books one of our Wildflower Photo Sessions. 😍

I am so thrilled (as always) to partner with the Florida Wildflower Foundation to bring these wildflower sessions to our photo friends and families for the 7th year, so far. We donate a portion of each booking fee to the Florida Wildflower Foundation to help support their amazing work.

🌼🌼We have a limited number of time slots available ON MOTHER'S DAY. Make this year's celebration one you'll be able to cherish for generations 🌼🌼

I learned to sew with help from my mom and a quilting summer camp at [the late, great] JOANN Fabric and Craft Stores when I was in elementary school. My mom also taught me how to crochet and it immediately became my favorite craft. Crochet is forgiving. You make a mistake, notice it, rip out the affected stitches and try again.

With sewing, on the other hand, there's almost always a small mark that remains as an indelible reminder that you messed up. Will anyone else notice it? Most likely not. Will my brain take a mental picture, frame said picture, and hang it in the front of my consciousness? Yes.

Last year, I pulled out my sewing machine and wanted to learn to get over my fear of sewing. I've made a couple dresses for E so far, and seeing her love them has lit a fire under my b***y to try some harder techniques.

Today, in preparation for the Greater Gainesville Young Professionals Yule Tide market, I practiced fusing and topstitching to make a new banner for my display.

I can't wait to put it up at this pop-up, University of Florida's Gator Market, and hopefully when we get to participate in the Grove Street Farmers Market again ☺️

I'm only 37 books away from hitting my 2025 goal of getting 150 copies of my book, "TODDLERHOOD: Reality Abstracted" out into the world. If you have a toddler in your life, please consider getting them a copy of my book. I'll be offering free giftwrapping at the event 🎁

⭐⭐⭐ Come see us at the GG Yuletide Pop-up today, Sunday 12/14, at The Boxcar at Depot Park from 1:00 to 5:00 pm ⭐⭐⭐

I've said it before, and I'll say it a thousand times more:

Santa Hugh embodies the spirit of Christmas in the most magical way. I love that I get to work with him to create such a unique experience for our photo families. Even more than that, I cherish these moments that I get to capture.

Every year, Santa brings a stack of books to read to/with the kids. Watching them light up as he brings the stories to life is one of my favorite parts of the experience.

If you want to be the first to k now when Santa is coming back to our enchanted forest, you can sign up to be notified on our Magic of Santa webpage: https://bit.ly/jmf-santa
