This session was magical. The tiny break from the rain on Sunday set us up for a perfect Senior Session with Emily. Her mom & I share a love for running, and Emily has it, too. This session honored Emily’s cross country experience and the chill vibes she wanted from our time together. The day delivered. Emily was naturally in her element; cool, confident and beautifully collected. It was a joy to celebrate this wonderful milestone with her.

It’s finally graduation day for this special girl. 🎉🥳 I have watched Chloe grow up through her mom’s point of view and my own personal experiences with her. She is such a kind soul and a quiet observer. She’s a hard worker- as an athlete and a student, and she’s headed down to Blacksburg in the fall. I know everyone is so very proud of you!!

Gavin did it for his mama-this photo session, that is. I promised him that I would make it go by quickly, and this might have been my fastest session yet! As we bopped around their family friend’s farm, he shared about a recent missions trip he went on, lacrosse and his plans for the fall, which include starting his journey to become a pilot. So many wonderful things ahead for him!

I’ve known Max’s mom, a dear friend and co-worker, for a long time now. There was an instant connection with Max, too: he’s a track kid! 😍 We got to talk about all things track & field life- he’s a talented pole vaulter by the way. He’s headed to Slippery Rock in the fall, a place he says just felt right to him.

Kjersti the brave 🩷

On a chilly Saturday morning back in the middle of March, Kjersti invited some of her closest to be a part of this experience in her journey. She said, of choosing to cut her hair, that this felt like one thing she could control in all that was ahead.

So, we sat and talked and laughed, while locks of hair fell, along with a few tears. We may have remarked at how little time it would take to shower now to lighten the mood, but she didn’t need it. Her brave shined, and she continues to walk boldly on this cancer journey.

One of my favorite parts of a senior session is watching them slowly settle in. It didn’t take long with Katie. We talked all things senior year, what she was looking forward to after graduation, and everything in between. Afterwards, her mom sent me a message that read, “Katie said you’re her new favorite person that she’s not related to!” That made me smile. I genuinely loved getting to know Katie and her mom, and I am so excited about what’s ahead for her! Happy Graduation day, Katie!! 🖤💜
