🚨 A CHANGE TO WHISPERING HOPE IMAGERY, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. 🚨
I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the future of photography, social media, and especially the rapid growth of AI — and I’ve made a decision I feel very strongly about.
Moving forward, I will no longer publicly post identifiable images of children on my photography page.
The recent Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruling involving AI-generated images of fictional children was a major part of what prompted me to take a step back and really think about the images I put into the public space.
Regardless of what the law allows, I believe we have a responsibility to think beyond what we can do and consider what we should do.
As photographers, we are entrusted with some of the most precious photographs a family will ever have — including images of their children. Once those images are shared publicly, we can’t control where they go, who saves them, or what technology may eventually be capable of doing with them.
That doesn’t sit right with me.
So I’m choosing to take an extra step to protect the children I’m trusted to photograph.
One important clarification: this does NOT change your client galleries. 🤍
Your galleries will remain exactly the same. You will still receive your full gallery of images, including identifiable images of your children, just as you always have.
The only difference is what I choose to publicly share on my photography page and other public-facing platforms. This is a change to my marketing and content strategy — not a change to the experience or galleries I provide to my clients.
Yes, this will change the way I market my business.
Yes, it may mean fewer images in my portfolio.
Yes, it may mean changing the way I create content.
And yes, it may affect my reach.
But I’m okay with that.
No amount of business growth, engagement, or money is more important to me than the safety and privacy of the children and families who trust me.
I know this decision may not make sense to everyone, and that’s okay. This is a personal decision I’m making for my business because it is what I believe is right.
I will still photograph your babies.
I will still document your families.
I will still capture the messy, beautiful, ordinary moments that you’ll want to remember forever.
I’m just going to be much more intentional about what parts of those memories I put on the internet.
Your memories belong to you. 🤍
And from here forward, I’m choosing to treat them that way.
