I photographed this family one year ago today, and if I’m being completely honest… I was absolutely dreading the shoot. Not because of the clients- they are absolutely lovely! But my own grandfather passed just the day before, so the last thing I wanted to do was spend time with someone else’s family. I didn’t want to cancel on such short notice, so I went, and I am so thankful that I did. Watching these parents, children, and grandchildren interact was truly healing for me.

The photos I have with my papa mean the absolute world to me. To have the opportunity to photograph other families, to document their relationships and joy and love is truly special. These have become some of my favorite family photos I have ever taken, and accompany the sweetest thoughts & memories of my own papa 💛

For the first time in a long time, I feel truly connected to my brand again.

I’ve taken a step back for awhile now, pouring into motherhood and other ventures, but I’ve felt such a strong pull back to portrait work. I’m more inspired than ever by this new direction, my evolving style, and the offerings I’m bringing to life (including 35mm and Super 8 ).

Documenting life as it is has always meant everything to me, but even more so now, as a young mom watching my little boy grow faster than I can hold onto. That’s what draws me so deeply to film. It’s honest, imperfect, and has a way of taking you right back into a moment in a way photos simply can’t.

For a limited number of clients, I’m offering a complimentary Super 8 video when you book a photo session between now and Mother’s Day.

I’m endlessly grateful for your support, for the relationships I’ve built, and for the trust you give me to capture your lives. I hope this new chapter resonates with you and inspires you to step in front of the lens and preserve what matters most.
