I’ve sat on this one for a while…
I created this video for the Tok when we decided it was time to share Amber’s story — her journey through cancer. I hesitated to post it here because Facebook doesn’t always seem to respond here on this page as openly to deeper, more vulnerable stories. But I don’t know why I let that stop me.
Because maybe someone will take pause.
Maybe that someone needs to hear this.
Maybe that someone is walking a similar path… and just needs to know they’re not alone.
This video is about the emotions that surface when your world shifts in unimaginable ways. It’s about honoring your feelings, taking pause, regrouping, pivoting — and doing what it takes to make it through to the other side.
Today is Amber’s birthday.
And with her health journey still unfolding — as she uncovers yet another layer of what’s happening within — my hope is that we uplift her. Truly uplift her.
Sometimes, just a kind word can feel like a million hugs.
To be seen… acknowledged… understood.
I’ve noticed that when I share blogs or videos of women walking through something raw and real — the reactions are often quieter. And it makes me wonder… why?
Why do we rally for weight loss or milestone birthdays (and yes, those are absolutely worth celebrating!) — but when a woman shares the most intimate, vulnerable truth of navigating a life-altering illness… it’s met with silence?
So if you’ve made it this far, I invite you to place yourself in the shoes of a woman facing the unknown — and choosing to share her story, not for attention, but in hopes that someone else might feel less alone.
Every like, love, and comment matters.
Not for the algorithm — but for the woman behind the story.
Let’s uplift her. Let’s honor her. Let’s remind her she is seen... very much seen, acknowledged and loved.
Happy Birthday, Amber Richon. You are a bight light and a Queen.
