Trying new things to create new art. At the shoot social a few weeks ago, I got to try a few “Pinterest” ideas. And I got to experiment with light painting. Is it perfect? It was hot, there were rumbles of thunder in the air, but Camryn Tuttle and “Tweet-e” were total pros. No fear, just gorgeous smiles and a shiny yellow classic car. It’s been one hell of a sad week, but these two are always there through thick and thin. They are my willing (with lots of treats!) models for my photo ideas and new backgrounds. They listen to my crazy ideas that bounce around in my head. They listen and give me side eye when I’m belting out songs, some I’m singing along to, others I’m making up as I go. When a thunderstorm rolls through, they become lap dogs. They always get their cheese tax, and love to be my taste testers with whatever I’m cooking or baking. And while I shed a tear every time I notice a little more grey, I’ll forever take the heartbreak for the precious time I get with my fur babies. Happy National Dog Day to R***r and Kismet. And at the rainbow bridge to Jazz and Diesel.

TAKE THE PICTURE!
With Mother’s Day coming up, I wanted to make a quick post. So many times I hear moms saying they’ll take photos later, their hair doesn’t look right, they need to lose a few pounds, they aren’t dressed nicely enough, etc. but take it from a photographer, it doesn’t matter! Just take the picture. You’re beautiful! Time goes by so fast and sometimes the only memories you have left are the photos. This momma was supporting her daughter for her prom photos and wasn’t sure she wanted to be in the photos since she wasn’t “dressed up” but with some encouragement, she took a few photos. I was able to capture this sweet moment between her and her daughter and they both look amazing (I mean it’s always a great choice!) So this Mother’s Day, moms don’t just stand behind the lens, get in there and take those photos, you won’t regret it.
