We had double the grace and talent at this shoot. It was a joy to work with these sisters, each an impactful dancer in their own respect 👯🏼‍♀️💪🏻

It was their very first photo shoot and they did very well. I love working with dancers on their first shoot. It’s inspiring to see their dedication and curiosity come to life in front of the camera! Is it time to book your dancer’s first session? 🩰🧑🏼‍🩰👏🏻

Never know what’s going to happen when I go into the studio with emma 💋 . This time we were experimenting with my new optical spot and playing with different lighting effects. I always appreciate connections like Emma who are ready to enter a shoot with no plan other than, Let’s see what happens. And because it’s Emma, that usually ends up being something good.

My favorite part of an audition session is what happens after we have the required shots.

Wardrobe choices open up and dancers can play with variations on traditional poses or create some unique shapes of their own. For many dancers, even the most accomplished ones, this may be their first opportunity to create images that express their unique dance style in a way  that goes beyond the the standard audition images. These photos supplement their audition portfolio and show their full range as an artist.

Featured today is emma who brought her quietly expressive personality to these images. Best wishes to Emma as she begins  her dance studies at UCLA-WAC:SchoolofDance this fall.

Booking is now open for fall audition sessions on September 27 and October 25. This is a great opportunity for dancers auditioning for summer intensives, college, or professional companies. See link in bio for full information.

13 year-old Caroline (Caroline H.) is currently a student at Peninsula School of Performing Arts and will be joining us this season as a Fall 2026 Ambassador! Caroline is looking forward to being part of the creative shoots throughout the season, in hopes of trying some new movements in front of the camera. She is also excited to bring her positive, collaborative attitude to the team. We are looking forward to seeing her high jumps and leg extensions during this season’s shoots!

Caroline hopes to one day step into her dream role of Giselle, with her dream company, Oklahoma City Ballet! In addition to dance, Caroline has a passion for acting, singing, reading, writing (especially poetry), Girl Scouts, and cats. She is left handed, considers herself a big theater nerd, and is a 4.0 student!

We are thrilled to have Caroline as part of the Ambassador team this season!

As a 14 year-old dancer from Dance Academy So Cal, Lillian (Lillian Sierra) is a wonderful part of our Fall 2026 Ambassador Team. Lillian’s goal is to to expand her portfolio as a pre-professional dancer and build her confidence in front of the camera. She is also really looking forward to bringing her passion, her positive attitude, and her experience in various types of dance to the team! We look forward to capturing her strong and powerful jumps during this season’s shoots!

Lillian aspires to dance professionally, especially for a Filipino ballet company such as Philippine Ballet Theatre or Ballet Manila. Outside of the studio, Lillian loves listening to music, as well as spending time with friends and family. She spends her free time playing Animal Crossing on her Nintendo Switch and reading.

We can’t wait to work with Lillian this season!

Returning ambassador, Alice (Alice Mangali), is a 15 year-old dancer who studies with Launch Dance Center. Alice is eager to bring her positive energy and great work ethic to her second season, while also continuing to gain confidence in front of the camera. She hopes to build her social media presence as a dancer and looks forward to doing so alongside other creative individuals! Alice’s ability to embody different characters and create various moods through her dancing will be a wonderful part of the Fall 2026 Ambassador team!

Alice will be featured as Clara in Launch Dance Center’s production of The Nutcracker this year. She also aspires to be the Spanish Lead in The Nutcracker one day. Alice would like to choreograph and grow as a teacher, too! Outside of the studio, she loves to craft and read. If Alice could live inside any movie, she would love to experience the world of Alice in Wonderland!

Alice is really excited to be back this season and we are so excited to see her continued growth!

Lily (♡𝓛𝓲𝓵𝔂 ♡) is a 15 year-old dancer who trains with Laguna Dance Theatre. We are excited to introduce Lily as part of the Fall 2026 Ambassador team! Lily hopes to grow artistically through this new experience, especially participating in something outside of her home studio. She looks forward to bringing her hard work, her team spirit, and her abundance of creative ideas to the Scott Edwards Photography Ambassador Team. With her amazing balances and natural hypermobility, Lily is a wonderful asset to this season’s team.

Lily would love to one day perform as the swan in Dying Swan or Giselle in Giselle, as well as be a part of a company like ABT, The Royal Ballet, or San Francisco Ballet. Outside of dance, Lily loves to dabble in many different forms of art, including crocheting, drawing, painting, and most recently, digital art. She loves all animals, especially cats and is really good at reciting movies

Most dancers schedule an audition session out of the obvious need for updated photos to present to audition panels. But many dancers don’t realize that the session also helps them in another important way: it gives them a boost of confidence. A solid dance image is not just useful to show to others. It also provides dancers with validation of all their hard work. Often they appreciate their technique, and themselves, in a whole new light when they see their photos.

Todays’s pre-professional dancer worked with us a few weeks ago. Her arabesque photo was a revelation to her about how far she has come. Once we got that photo, we were able to settle into the session and capture a little more of her artistic side. She got her photos and a little burst of confidence as she prepares for auditions.

Booking is now open for my fall audition sessions on September 27 and October 25. This season I’m offering three different session tiers, each with a specific dancer in mind–from younger dancers looking to attend their first summer intensive to advance dancers ready to move onto college and professional stages.

Check link in bio to learn more about my audition sessions and to choose the session that is best for you.

Introducing 5 of our talented Fall 2026 Ambassadors! While all have a shared passion and dedication to their craft, these dancers are creative, unique individuals that we are looking forward to working with for the rest of this season. Get to know each of them as you scroll ✨

As a 16 year-old dancer from Los Alamitos Ballet School and Cerritos High School, Charlotte (Charlotte Powers), is a wonderful asset to our Fall 2026 Ambassador Team. Charlotte’s goal is to keep growing, challenging herself, and making the most of every opportunity. She is also really looking forward to showcasing the joy, hard work, and passion that dancers put into what they love doing. We can’t wait to capturing her strong extensions and flexibility during this season’s shoots!

Charlotte loves to be a part of creative and fun choreography when dancing, but ultimately aspires to be a physical therapist. She looks forward to her future career, where she can help dancers and athletes stay healthy and get back to doing what they love post-injury. Outside of the studio, Charlotte loves listening to music and going to concerts, as well as hanging out and taking pictures with her friends. She was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and hopes to bring awareness to the condition and how it “doesn’t have to stop you from doing the things you love.”

We can’t wait to work with Charlotte this season!

Emily (Emily Iachelli) is a 14 year-old dancer who trains with Dance Academy of Southern California. We are excited to introduce Emily as part of the Fall 2026 Ambassador team! Emily hopes to grow through this new experience and meet new people, as well as capture the raw emotion and essence of dancers. She looks forward to bringing her experience, her creativity, and her positive attitude to the Scott Edwards Photography Ambassador Team. Emily’s impressive turning skills and expressive upper body will be a great asset to the team!

Emily would love to one day perform as Odile in Swan Lake, as well as be a part of a company like ABT or The Royal Ballet. Outside of dance, she loves to hang out with friends and crochet. Emily loves the colors light blue and light yellow. She could see hers
