Justin got interviewed about Deep Sea Darling, our black and white series we shot on the USAT Liberty in Amed, Bali. This series picked up an Honorable Mention in Black & White at the 2025 Global Lens Photography Awards!

He chats about the three days we dove that wreck before a camera ever came out, our safety divers from Bali Dive Resort, our whole hand-signal vocabulary we've built up over years of doing this, and of course his gear.

We should also note: this was a planned, guided dive built on years of training. You should not try this without proper certifications and training.

I’m home from Roatán, and I already miss these people.

This really was the trip of a lifetime. I pushed myself in ways I hadn’t before, including doing scuba-assisted photoshoots on the world’s second-largest coral reef. I got to see incredible wildlife, spend time in some truly beautiful environments, and create art that I’m really proud of.

But the people made the trip. I could not have asked for a smarter, more capable, more talented, or more genuinely lovely group to experience all of this with. They’re beautiful people inside and out, and I feel incredibly lucky that I got to know them. And that includes the staff at the Turquoise Bay Resort and our INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE dive team, Osman, Duvin, and Captain Billy.

A very special thank you to Submerge for putting this whole adventure together, for capturing incredible art and so many memories, and especially for creating an environment where we felt safe(both physically and psychologically) to try new things, push ourselves, and just enjoy being there. Also for attempting to recenter me on an important principle: “Do less.” 😜

For eight days, we got wash away the dust of everyday life and immerse ourselves in a tropical paradise with a bunch of wonderful weirdos who love the water as much as we do.

I loved this trip. I love what we created. And I miss all of you already. ❤️🌊
