The Mighty Moose, end to end. 🦅
The C-17 West Coast Demo Team rolling out at the Grand Junction Air Show, with the Book Cliffs standing guard behind it. Swipe ➡️ to walk the full length of the jet, then catch the whole frame on the last slide.

✈️ The C-17 Globemaster III is the Air Force's workhorse airlifter. Its four engines put out more than 160,000 lbs of combined thrust, and it can back itself up after landing under its own power.

🇺🇸 The C-17 West Coast Demo Team flies out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, with the 62nd Airlift Wing. Their demo shows the crowd what this jet can really do: tight turns, short-field landings, and that famous reverse.

Finally had some good timing and was able to watch some of the recent thunderstorms around the area. This massive cloud was headed east along the bookcliffs.

Stars above, lightning below. ⚡✨

Big thunderstorm up the horizon northwest of Fruita, Colorado last night, with a sky full of stars overhead. One of those nights where pointing the camera at the storm definitely paid off.

What catches your eye first — the lightning or the stars?

The Pinyon Jays having a drink and a dip at the small wildlife pond we build this summer. Perfect time to provide a water source, with the lack of rain recently.

Took a while, but I finally got some good Magpie photos 📸
While out watching fire crews by the river, a couple Magpies stopped at a close rock to see what was going on also.

Our local racoon coming to the pond for water and a quick dip. Had to stay up late after the thunderstorm for it to come back out. But all in a night's work.
