I love this photo. I was zoomed way in, and my focus is off, but I don't mind. I love it for the memory. This is my total beach loving girl, at the beach this last weekend. She had a softball tourney in in Galveston this weekend, and I promised her that we would spend some time at the beach. So on Sunday, before we came back home, we pulled up to the beach with storm clouds all around us. It was honestly horrible beach weather. Crazy windy, chilly, and then it started raining. My girl was crushed. Not because of the weather, but because I told her that we would have to come back another day. I was thinking of a ton of excuses to NOT get out of the car. Going to the beach and dealing with the wet & sand on a normal day is a challenge for me. This sounded like a nightmare. But, it was one of those Mama moments where I realized that I had a rare chance to make an awesome memory. I had my baby girl all to myself, and we had the beach all to ourselves. So off we went. I'll never forget the look on her face, when I changed my mind and said 'Race you to the water!' We played in the ocean in the pouring rain for 2 hours. It was wonderful. And before we left, my 'little' girl who doesn't hold my hand much anymore, slipped her hand in mine and said 'Well...this is pretty much the best day of my life.'
