Every summer my husband and I go to Cornell University to see the red-tailed hawk fledglings of Big Red and Arthur. We went later than normal this year so the "fledglings" are just about adults now. There were 3 hawks that hatched this year. Sadly, the youngest hawk, P3, passed away last week after what they believe was a window strike. This is so tragic. Every year I feel there is a window strike with these hawks.

The hawk pictured here is P2. We were sitting at a picnic table a good distance away from them. I have a zoom lens which allows me to photograph them.

It's the back of the male Baltimore Oriole, but his orange colors are so striking!

I know people consider grackles nuisance birds, but their feathers look pretty in the sun. I think I can see this one's tongue.

This male grosbeak is my first spring time visitor of 2026 near Binghamton, NY. I had to take this through the window when he first arrived, so the photo isn't as crisp as I would like. They don't really seem scared by my presence so hopefully the next time I can open the window and get a better shot!

This is my favorite picture I took today while counting ducks for the Great Backyard Bird Count. This was taken along the River Walk in Binghamton, NY.
