Ok but did you know a backcountry ski wedding or backcountry ski engagement session in the Pacific Northwest is more accessible than you might think?? ⛷️ 💒

With a little flexibility and patience for the weather, spring often brings sunny days like this! And we’ve got a lot of places here where skinning in feel a LOT more like a quick adventure than a hurdle. Around the PNW, there are several drive up trailheads with a mile or less of skinning to reach big alpine views, and many of these zones hold snow well into June or even July! ☀️🏔️

If backcountry skiing is part of your relationship and your story, I think it deserves to be documented! I’m a Seattle based destination wedding photographer and AIARE certified backcountry skier, and this is exactly the kind of adventure I love to photograph.

Currently living in Molly and Cam’s Saltwater Farm wedding photos on San Juan Island. It’s cold and windy here in New Hampshire where I’m spending the holidays and a warm San Juan sea breeze sounds a lot more up my alley right about now 😬

Also thanks to these two for planning their backcountry skiing honeymoon to the same exact area in Japan that Michael and I were heading to a week later.. they really inadvertently helped with our volcano skiing plans 😋

The way his ears flop when he runs and greets every guest 😭 Highly recommend attaching a little camera to your dog if they’re coming to your wedding. It’s such a cute way to make a wedding video.

An intimate adventure elopement at Cathedral Rock, Sedona 😌 This was the kind of place that invited us all to slow down and be present. Being there was one of those life-altering travel (and career) experiences that, at the time, made me ask myself a lot of questions about what I wanted my life to look like. I left it being truly inspired.

So if you’re ever thinking about eloping somewhere outdoors that will make you REALLY feel something, Sedona might just be one of those places. Good things seem to come when people visit there 😉

Wedding portraits at the Afterglow Vista from Anna and Josh’s Roche Harbor wedding. If you can get past the spooky haunted part 👻 the McMilin family mausoleum is by far the best photo spot at the resort imo.

The story goes lime tycoon John McMilin built it for his family as a space they could reunite after death. One of his sons walked away from the family due to religious differences, which is why there is a seat missing and one of the pillars is seemingly broken.

Apparently John’s secretary Ada’s ashes were brought to the mausoleum in the 1950s, and she’s been wreaking havoc and haunting the place ever since. People are seeing blue orbs, hearing voices, you name it.
