Robert Hare Stavers Photography

Robert Hare Stavers Photography “One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.” William Shakespeare And I have studied photography as an fine art genre.

I have been a photographer for 60 years starting with a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye camera when I was nine. Sublimating my passion for 55 years I grew up and embarked on a career in finance, retiring in 2001 to pursue photography full time. I have studied with accomplished fine art photographers - Charles Crammer, Tony Sweet and Michael Frye among others - learning the art of shooting as well as the dis

cipline of preparing and printing images. I have always been intrigued by the interplay of light, color and form and how different moods can be created by manipulating these three elements. My goal as a photographer is to re-create a scene as I envisioned it when I first saw and became attracted to it. This may be a straight forward shot of a beautiful landscape or an imaged view influenced by a particular light or mood. Images are created using digital processes (various computer programs and techniques) to prepare a file, and inkjet printers with archival pigment inks and archival papers (or other archival media) for the final product.

Friends of Galleriehare,

Two announcements.

I have neglected my Galleriehare website for several years, mostly due to its cumbersome and outdated structure and difficulty in updating. Thanks to the expert help from the folks at Axis Studios in Seattle I now have a beautiful new website (being launched today). It is tightly integrated with Lightroom and allows me to update and change presentation of images “on the fly”. I love it and hope you enjoy it as well. Go to www.galleriehare.com to see it.

In late January, early February I traveled to the far north of Norway to an area know as Lofoten. Lofoten is mountains, fjords, wild beaches and picturesque fishing villages. Thanks to our workshop leaders, Matt Seuss and Dr Kah-Wai Lin we explored the area in depth, spending long hours in the cold, wind and snow behind our tripods. The weather was - well the weather was Norway in the winter. Great for creating wonderful images in the many breaks during the clouds each day and night. A selection of images from the trip is now on my website at www.galleriehare.com/portfolio/lofoten-norway/. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I did making them.
