I designed this invitation from the heart. I was pregnant and planning our "Baby Party" as I liked to call it. My idea of a Baby shower is everyone dancing and eating delicious food. And that's exactly what happened. I had so much help planning this. From the food taken care of by my Mom to drinks and everything silverware by my In-Laws and decorations by my amazing friends. But these invitations. They were all mine. 😍❤️

The best things happen when you least expect it. We were finishing up our group shots and before we headed to the reception I wanted to make a quick stop at this almond orchard that's smack in the middle of the city. I had already asked the owner for permission and I had already visualized the shot so I figured, eh, why not? Well we had less than 5 mins to do it and this was one of the shots. It is by far one of my all time favorite pictures. I can't help but feel a bit happy/guilty that we were late to the reception. 😆

It's so easy to get caught in negativity's death grip. Overthinking your value. Doubting your skill. Comparing your work to those in the same field. The truth is that as soon as you let these thoughts creep into your mind everything in your life suffers. Not only does it bring you down but you begin to subconsciously convey that to everyone around you. It's never good in business because you need your clients to trust you. For me, it's been a constant struggle and I fight each day to be more positive than yesterday.

I hope everyone had a great 3 day weekend! However if you had to work yesterday, don't feel bad! Tuesday is our Monday. 😒

So, yes... I have been gone for far too long! But I guarantee it was with good reason. I found out I was pregnant shortly after my last event in August so I decided I needed to focus on only a couple things at a time: my job and growing a little Baby! 😊 Although photography is my passion and it's something I want to expand on, I chose to give it a break because it is an elective hobby as of now. I'm happy to report that my pregnancy and labor went off without a hitch and I am a proud Mommy to a baby girl named Allie. But now I am on maternity leave and I'm brainstorming. Lots of stuff is brewing up in the noggin and I can't wait to get them all out there. For now I will continue giving my undivided attention to my little Love and I leave you with a promise: I will be back soon! 💚💙💜 MP
