BREAKING: Ranked #2 in the USA for landscape photography by (2025). Woot!!

The image is from Yosemite: a winter morning after fresh snow, Half Dome behind the laden trees, the Merced River calm enough to mirror all of it back. I've been to this exact spot dozens of times, but that morning felt like a gift.

I believe the world's beauty is God's authorship. My job is to give my attention and try not to get in the way. Its overwhelming and emotional at times.

Thanks to OneEyeland for the platform and recognition, and to everyone who has followed and supported this work. It means more than I can say.

Every fall, landscape photographers go “hunting for gold” among aspen and peak colors.
What’s more rare is that a few months ago actual gold (*not actual) showed up in the mail.
One Eyeland sent a Top 100 recognition trophy, and it showed up as an actual gold bar on my doorstep.

It’s fun, and I’m grateful., and I’ll admit, it’s objectively cool to hold.
But it also felt like a reminder, my name isn’t the point.
The real award is getting to stand in front of something God made: light breaking open over granite, fog settling into a valley, water turning to glass, and then translating that moment into an image someone else can live with, remember, and feel.
If you’ve followed along, bought a print, shared a post, or simply paused long enough to look, thank you.
You’re part of why I do this.
Enjoy the unboxing (because yes, the gold bar is still really cool)!.

Last week I had one of those moments that knocks you sideways. I was invited by Marjaree Mason Center—Fresno County’s only dedicated domestic violence shelter and survivor support organization—to sign a selection of my landscape prints they chose for their new facility.

A lot of collectors pick one piece. Maybe three. But walking their halls and seeing room after room filled with my work was surreal. Staff paused me in doorways to say how the outdoor scenes bring a sense of peace to their space, a little calm to the intense work they do every day—helping adults and children find safety, support, and a path forward.

Huge respect to the team at MMC—for the intention behind every corner of that building and the life-affirming work they do every day. If you’re in Fresno, take a minute to explore more about what they offer or how to support them. Visit Fresno County

Last week I walked through room after room of the new space—walls hung with prints I signed that they selected for their halls.
Seeing my landscapes everywhere was honestly stupefying. But what hit harder was having staff stop to tell me how the images—calm, open, outdoors—bring a bit of peace into the important work they do: supporting adults and kids affected by domestic violence and offering shelter, counseling, safety, education and advocacy across Fresno County.

Proud to be part of a moment that blends art with purpose. Tap to learn more about Marjaree Mason Center and how they serve this community.

A belated milestone I’m grateful for: one of my images was included in the Epson International Pano Awards Hardcover Awards Book (2024 edition--yes, I'm *that* belated).

For me, this work is less “look what I did,” more “look what God made.”
Photography is my excuse to pay attention, to notice the originality and beauty He embedded in the world, and to give Him credit for it. Thanks for joining me in the journey.

Five days into Alaska and I’m still in awe.

The beauty, the majesty, the textures, the colors, the people, the places—this state wrecks me in the best of ways. On this 4th of July, there’s no better way to celebrate America than standing here in one of its most untamed corners.

Back home, the heat is in the 100s. But here, the 50-degree rain and breeze feel like grace. A full-body, full-soul exhale.

We’ve walked beneath cathedral forests. Watched mist wraiths rise and fall on mossy hillsides. Chased light. Chased wonder.

This is the kind of place that heals something in you without asking permission.

Happy Independence Day from the edge of the wild.

This one hits different.

Landscape photography is my life’s work—and this week, I found out I’ve been named the #1 Landscape Photographer in the USA by One Eyeland in their 2024 international awards.

Even more surreal: I’m one of only 14 photographers in the world to receive their Golden X Trophy, a rare honor that places me among some of the best landscape artists working today.

I don’t take this lightly. I’ve always felt that beauty isn’t just out there in the world—it’s an invitation. A calling. A way God gets our attention.

Thank you for celebrating these moments with me.

As this year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the journey it’s been—for me, and for many of you. It’s been a year of contrasts: beautiful and challenging, inspiring and exhausting. Life isn’t getting easier or less complicated. If anything, it often feels heavier.

That’s one reason I do what I do—getting out, away, to capture these glimpses of wonder and share them with you. Not just to showcase the world’s beauty, but to invite you to stop. Pause. Really look.

Take in the light brushing the edge of a mountain, the stillness of a forest as night falls, or the rhythm of waves meeting the shore. There is something deeper to be found—something that doesn’t erase life’s struggles but can transform how we navigate them. To me, these moments are reminders of the Creator’s presence, woven into the fabric of everything around us.

So today, as you scroll through your feed, I hope you’ll stop here a little longer. Look past the veneer of life’s chaos and into the beauty all around us. Allow yourself to feel something.

Thank you for being part of this journey. For sharing in the wonder. For finding your own inspiration and perhaps even a deeper connection to the One who made it all.

Wishing you a meaningful close to this year and a hope-filled step into tomorrow. Here’s to finding beauty in the messiness and meaning in the everyday. Happy New Year!
