The team has officially been finalized!!

We have our 5 wonderful, unique, and absolutely AMAZING girls who will be representing the 2027 J. Atkins Photography Senior Ambassador Team!

I spent a lot of time reading applications, getting to know these girls through their answers, answering questions, talking with parents, and making sure I was putting together the right group…

And I am SO excited about these five!

Sadly, I didn’t have any boys apply this year—but I’m hoping we can change that in the future!

Emails are officially out, and the girls are getting their invites to our VIP Ambassador Facebook Group!

Now it’s time to get this show on the road!!!

We have a whole senior year ahead of us filled with photos, new experiences, laughter, memories, confidence, and SO much fun.

I can’t wait to watch these girls grow throughout the year and capture all the different things that make each of them WHO THEY ARE.

Okayyyy, but how CUTE are these two?!

My Oaklen and Bryleigh absolutely crushed their Back 2 School Bus Minis, and I couldn’t wait to share a little sneak peek!

The smiles.
The outfits.
The personalities.
The SCHOOL BUS.

We had way too much fun with these, and I think we captured some pretty dang adorable back-to-school memories.

These two made my job easy.

Okay… it’s happening.

Acceptance messages have officially gone out to my potential 2027 Senior Ambassadors!

Now comes the hardest part…

Waiting. 😂😅

I spent a LOT of time reading these applications, getting to know the girls through their answers, and thinking about who would be a great fit for this experience.

And honestly?

I am SO excited about the girls I reached out to.

Every single one brings something different to the table, and that’s exactly what I wanted for this year’s team.

Now we wait for those “YES! I’M ALL IN!” messages.

By Friday, I’ll know who has accepted their spot and we’ll officially have our 2027 J. Atkins Photography Senior Ambassador Team!

I cannot WAIT to introduce you to them.

Back-to-school season is one of those little chapters that feels ordinary while you’re living it… and then somehow you’re looking at the photos years later wondering how they got so big so fast.

The new backpack.
The first-day outfit.
That missing front tooth.
The excitement.
The nerves.
The personality that is so them right now.

And we’re putting it all in front of a school bus.

And yes — any school can participate!

You won’t see a school name on the side of the bus, so these are perfect for any kiddo heading back to school.

One day. One bus. Six spots.

Let’s capture this little back-to-school chapter before it becomes another thing you wish you had photographs of.

I am officially sitting down with the toddler in bed, my notes, and a whole lot of excitement to read through these applications.

And to every girl who applied:

Please don’t panic. 😂

If you haven’t heard from me yet, that does NOT mean you’re out.

I’m taking the time to actually read your application and get to know you — not just skim through it and pick five names.

I’m looking at your answers, your personality, what you’re involved in, what you’re excited about, and most importantly…

whether I think this experience will be a great fit for YOU.

I originally planned to choose 5 ambassadors, but I have been so impressed by the girls who applied that I’m giving myself the space to make the right decision for this year’s team.

So…

What’s next?

I review every application.
I narrow down the team.
I reach out to the selected ambassadors and their parents.
Then we start planning our first experience together!

To everyone who applied — thank you for trusting me with a little piece of your senior year.

I know putting yourself out there isn’t always easy, and I don’t take that lightly.

I’m so excited to get to know you better.

This week has been one I’ll never forget.

When I opened applications for my 2027 Senior Ambassador Team, I hoped I would find a group of seniors who wanted more than just beautiful photos.

I hoped to find girls who wanted to celebrate their senior year, grow in confidence, and tell their own unique story.

Today, applications are officially closed.

I just (again) want to say…

Thank you.

Thank you to every senior who applied.

Thank you to every parent who trusted me enough to encourage your daughter to apply.

Thank you to everyone who shared a post, tagged a friend, or cheered me on this week.

I don’t take any of it for granted.

Over the next few days, I’ll be reading every application carefully because choosing this year’s team is something I’m taking to heart.

I truly can’t wait to begin this journey with the incredible young women who will make up the 2027 Ambassador Team.

This is only the beginning. 💛

Over the last few days, I’ve shared why I created my Senior Ambassador Program, what it’s actually like, and a little about who I am behind the camera.

If you’ve been following along and thinking…

I’m not looking for the “most photogenic” girls.

I’m not looking for girls with modeling experience.

I’m looking for seniors who want to celebrate one of the biggest years of their lives, make memories, build confidence, and have an experience that’s about them.

Every senior has a story.

Every personality deserves to be celebrated.

And I’d be honored to help tell yours.

What is it really like to be a J. Atkins Photography Senior Ambassador? 💛

People often ask me what my Senior Ambassador Program is really like.

The answer?

It’s so much more than taking pictures.

It’s laughing until your cheeks hurt.

It’s chasing golden hour.

It’s celebrating who you are—not trying to fit into someone else’s idea of who you should be.

It’s sessions designed around your personality, your interests, and your story.

It’s meeting other incredible seniors who are all completely different, yet cheering each other on along the way.

It’s hearing…

“I’m so awkward in front of the camera.”

…at the beginning of a session,

and…

“That was actually so much fun!”

…by the end.

But most of all…

It’s spending your senior year feeling seen.

Not just photographed.

Because your senior year deserves more than cookie-cutter photos.

It deserves an experience that celebrates who you are right now—your personality, your passions, and this once-in-a-lifetime season of life.

This isn’t just another photo session. It’s a chance to celebrate one of the biggest years of your life.

Meet the Girl Behind the Camera

If we’re going to spend an evening together chasing golden hour, I figured you should know a few things about me…

Coffee is basically a personality trait.

If nachos are on the menu…I’m ordering them.

My drive to every session includes upbeat music because good vibes start before I even get there.

I have a 7-month-old dachshund named Knox, and yes…he’s spoiled.

Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream will win every single time.

Fall is my favorite season. Give me crisp air, hoodies, changing leaves, and golden light.

I ride a yellow motorcycle named Bee (probably not something you expected from your photographer 😂).

You’ll hear me say “Just one more!” at least five times during your session…because sometimes the very next photo is the one.

I am not easily offended, and I promise I’m not judging you. If you’re worried about being awkward, don’t be. Almost everyone says that before their session, and my job is to help you relax and have fun.

Bonus Fact: I have absolutely climbed into a creek, laid in the grass, and stood in Lake Michigan just to get the perfect shot…and I’d do it again. 😂

Most importantly…

I don’t want you to leave saying,

“The pictures turned out great.”

I want you to leave saying,

“That was actually SO much fun.”

Because beautiful photos are important…

But the experience matters just as much.
