Small 5x7 canvas on board water-soluble pastels. I'm calling them magical crayons! Lol! I'm not sure how I will be using them in the future, but there's something about them I'm loving!

I painted this good old boy for a wonderful couple! This beautiful little guy took a total of almost seven hours to complete. My pet portrait of my old man Thor (previous dog portrait post) took about three hours. This guy took longer due to the extra detail work. I did however stop just shy of starting the fine details that would include individual hairs! I like the smooth blending, giving this sweet guy relaxing dreamlike feeling.

I know I've recently said that I'm really enjoying oil paints, but I'm REALLY enjoying oil paints! Last night I chose a purple that I wasn't liking. Well, I really didn't like it today, so I quite literally wiped it away, mixed and applied another color! Now, I'm so in love! Im also much happier with how the silk is laying!

Sneak peek of this adorable couple! We had an amazing week, and I was so excited for this shoot! But the day before, the weather had other plans! Outdoor photos turned into indoor ones, but we couldn't have asked for a more stunning indoor location. We even managed to take a few outdoor shots without freezing! The outdoor "awkward" photos were so much fun! I can't wait to share!
