Hello social media world! You may have noticed I haven’t showed up here for awhile. I decided to focus more on family this year and taken on a very limited amount of weddings. It’s been amazing to spend my weekends with my family again after a busy couple of years traveling and being away nearly every summer weekend! Wedding photography is a huge passion of mine, but also it comes at a time cost, and I realized last year I needed to make some changes. Taking on a limited number of weddings has allowed me to say “yes” to lake days and allowed me to go on weekend trips to visit extended family and friends throughout the summer! Another post is coming with a life update, but for now, I’m sharing a photo from Stacey and Shaun’s wedding on Saturday! 😍

Being behind the lens on a wedding day allows me to see things from a unique perspective. From the small details to the big moments, I get to witness it all and freeze those precious memories in time.

But what I love most is seeing the joy and love shared between the couples and their loved ones. There's nothing quite like witnessing the pure happiness on their faces as they start their journey together.

To all the couples I've had the privilege of photographing, thank you for letting me be a part of your special day. It's an honor to be able to capture those memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Planning your big day can be stressful, but as a photographer, I've got you covered! Here are some wedding day tips from my perspective that can help you capture the best memories:
1. Start early: Give yourself plenty of time to get ready, take photos and arrive at the ceremony venue without feeling rushed.
2. Communicate with your photographer: Discuss your vision, style, and any specific requests with your photographer beforehand to ensure they capture exactly what you want.
3. Lighting is key: Whether it's indoor or outdoor, make sure to choose a venue with good lighting for the best results.
4. Stay fed and hydrated: Wedding days can be long and hectic, but remember to make sure you and your bridal party drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, and eat snacks so no one gets hangry! 5. Enjoy the moment: Don't get too caught up in the details or the timeline, just relax and enjoy the moment with your loved ones.
As a photographer, my goal is to help document all the precious moments throughout the day and tell the story of your wedding. I can’t pick just one from Monica and Mike’s wedding to share! I love natural, candid-style images but I also love traditional “looking at the camera” images too! Which do you love more? Which do you prefer to display in your home? I’d say we have 50/50 on display in our home! I aim to get a great mix of both styles for my clients!

Another pro-tip: this one is for the photographers. Bring washi tape to your weddings for flat lays! I learned this tip recently! You can use the roll itself to hold large flowers upright, and you can break off a tiny piece to hold the rings in place. (This is what I did here)
