🤍Happy 2 week Anniversary Mr. + Mrs. Vaughan🤍
I wanted to share a little venue highlight for this Fredericksburg Wedding spot. This was my first time working at and I really enjoyed so many things about this venue. It was the middle of July with temperatures above 100 degrees 🔥🥵. We needed to make the best use of our time for outdoor photos which meant not walking too far so we could knock them out fast and get back indoors. This venue sits on top of a hill with gorgeous views so it wasn’t difficult at all to step outside and capture gorgeous photos. Also being up on the hill gave us nice summer breezes that not only kept us cooler but have movement to the dresses that my photographer heart loved. The other plus side to being on top of the hill is all the natural light that comes into the venue itself. Just look at how dreamy those ceremony moments are 🤍. Also…..the cocktail hour courtyard is just a couple steps outside with a beautiful fountain pool and green space for corn hole, games, and space to mingle. Peep that last picture for the view by the fountain 😍. Oh and I forgot to mention the home next door with a back yard pool and place to get ready and even stay after the event. I know it can be hard to find a spot for summer in Texas where you aren’t melting everywhere you go and although it is hard to “beat the heat” this space was amazing and hosted the perfect day for this wedding! 🤍I hope to capture more beautiful moments there again soon 🤍

The best advice I can give my bride + groom is to soak in every moment. Don’t worry about the photos. I will capture all the moments and memories and all you need to do is enjoy your celebration. The day goes by so fast and I don’t want you to miss out on anything worrying about the details. I feel like this picture is such a perfect depiction of “soaking up the moment”. Everything around you moving fast and you two just soaking up the bliss of the day together. In your own little wedding bubble 🤍. Thank you .vaughan for allowing me to capture all the beautiful moments yesterday. It was perfect! Congratulations!

I would say 90% of the time when I meet a couple they say something to the tune of “just warning you….we are very awkward in front of the camera” and I’ll always respond back in my head “no you’re not you just haven’t had a good candid experience”. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The best photos are when you just keep moving, talk to each other, make each other laugh! Let your session be a fun date where I’m just a third wheel along for the fun! I promise you’ll love how they turn out!

Let’s talk about your shot list real quick. I think it’s super important for you to be in the moment and present with your people on your wedding day! One way to make this easier for you is to have a shot list prepared and given to your photographer in advance. This can include certain areas you want to take photos at, Pinterest inspo, and your “portrait list” such as family portrait shots and wedding party shots. Leave this to your photographer to help facilitate when these can be done efficiently that you don’t feel like you’re having to be posed for photos all day. For example having a moment to get a photo with each of your bridesmaids right after everyone gets ready. It’s a fun time to get pumped up with your girls and everyone’s hair and makeup is freshly done 😉🤍

The amount of photos I haven’t shared on here yet is shameful. Anytime I came on to share I would get overwhelmed with what to post and then distracted and forget but I wanted to share this GORGEOUS first look this morning! As soon as we saw this location we knew it was PERFECT for this moment and I loved the way this memory was captured from both up close and overhead view!

I hope everyone’s week is starting off as beautifully as this 💍! I spent the day doing my favorite thing 📸 with amazing people, in this AMAZING weather. If you live in the Houston area and haven’t been outside today…..you need to enjoy it now! I see Spring coming!!! Eeeek

I highly recommend doing a “First Look” with your father or other family member the day of your wedding. It’s important to give some special private moments with loved ones before the day gets a little crazy 🤍

Sometimes I get caught up in how I market myself as a photographer. Like does my feed look aesthetically pleasing, is everything consistent, etc…. But if I am honest with myself, my strength is really capturing all the little moments. All the memories you didn’t even realize was being photographed that you get to look back on. I tell people frequently that I love candid moments, but the it’s the meaning behind the candid moments that make me excited to capture your special day. I knew Missy’s grandmother couldn’t make it, so when she was on a FaceTime call with her I couldn’t miss the opportunity to capture it. My husband and I had a similar call with family members on our wedding day and when I that moment in our gallery I got more emotional than with any other “picture perfect” shot. So if you are thinking about booking me, I want you to know that first about me. I over shoot and aim to capture all the little moments that make your day special for you to relive over and over 🤍

I am 100% made for warm weather. I despise the cold. So if you have a session with me this month and I look like I’m ready for a blizzard that’s why. The countdown is on for our Hawaii trip and it couldn’t come soon enough. Until then I’ll be reminiscing on this Mexico wedding. Let’s take a moment to just appreciate how beautiful the is!
