Ever since I began in photography, back in 2009 😳, I've been seeking a way to create photos for people that feel more like art than like exact depictions of life. Photos that make you FEEL something more than just see what you and your people look like at your best. Photos that I’d want to put up on my wall as decor that don’t feel like a postcard or holiday card. Because to be honest, I've never really been a photos-on-the-wall-as-art kind of person! Oh the irony.

I thought about combining photos with 🎨painting, but I’m no pro painter. I tried printing on fabric, but it still didn’t feel quite there. 🎥Video wasn’t the answer either. But I KNEW there was a way. So I kept at it.

Well y’all, I have to say — I think I'm finally getting there. Something about this feels right. Only took me 11 years right?! I guess that's a lesson in not giving up even when the progress seems slow.

I'm excited to start adding more motion, double exposures (taking one photo on top of another, like this photo of ) and blur to your photo sessions. Yes, I'll still be taking lots of the look we're all used to, but I can't wait to now throw in a few special treats for you each time that in my opinion celebrate and magnify the personalities in front of me even more, better capture the FEELING & ENERGY of the day, and the crazy, moving, changing and beautiful chaos that is life in general.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because I don't want you to look back at your pictures and *only* say-- "this is what we looked like and weren’t we cute" -- I want you to say that *and* "YESSS that's exactly how our life, in its best/sweetest/happiest moments, FELT at that time!" and have all of your memories come flooding back.
Wow this caption is aggressive, thank you if you’re still with me. And thank you for coming with me along the journey!
