Our Story
Hey, y’all! I am Delaney Ball DeLaFuente and I was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Texas. I’m married to the most wonderful man and we have two beautiful children
I started my official photography business in January of 2019. Although, I have enjoyed photography as a hobby since I was a young teen, it wasn’t anything I ever took seriously, unfortunately. At that period of time, photography was not a booming business and I was always told it’d do nothing for me and my future. BOY WERE THEY WRONG! I did attend college for two years, studying sociology. I had always done well in school and graduating college was something I had always wanted to do. But, as most of you know, things change. My grandma passed away and my heart was completely broken. I needed my family so my husband and I decided it was best for me to put my education on hold and move back home. And then, the most amazing thing that could have ever happened, happened. We got PREGNANT!! And from that moment on, I’ve been a different person. We have two beautiful children, Delilah and Rebel, and they are my true whole reason why. They brought me a new happiness and strive. While I was mothering my first newborn, the thoughts of work and “now what am i going to do” drove me crazy. I was a waitress during my whole pregnancy but I knew that was not something that I wanted to return to, especially not with the long hours I’d have to be away from my baby. Not only that, but she was exclusively breastfed and never would take a bottle. So, to say at the least, we were inseparable. When she was about six months old, I decided it may be time for me to find a new career. I signed up for a dental assistant school. I joined a MLM company. Nothing worked out for me because nothing felt right. I wasn't happy and it wasn't worth leaving my happiness at home for. Finally, one day, a good friend of mine texted me asking if could do her maternity pictures! Of course I said, “yes!”. And that was when it all made sense. That was when I found something that made me happy, relieved my stress and anxiety, and made me be still for the moment. With kids, life always feels like its moving 100mph. When I shoot, I have my sense of peacefulness that is hard for me to attain nowadays. I’m not sure if that friend even knows that her kind words and encouragement helped me get to where I am today, but I will be forever grateful for her push.
My children gave me a newfound passion for pregnancy and motherhood and I just absolutely adore everything motherhood related, from pregnancy to birth to postpartum realness. My end goal is to be a birth photographer/birth-worker while focusing on mommas, babies, and families. I will still offer other genres of photography as shooting overall is what I love to do!
