16 years and 7 months ago I was pregnant with my first baby but sadly he passed away in the womb and I needed to have surgery. This was a very emotional and hard time in my life, and I was seeking something to fill the void in my heart. Back then I worked at a jewelry store and one day, shortly after surgery, a couple walked in with a baby chihuahua puppy. I instantly fell in love and asked them where they got their pup. That night I drove deep into Pennsylvania to meet the other puppies. I saw an adorable black one and scooped him up, paid for him and turned to leave. All of a sudden, I heard the most pitiful cry coming from the cage...it was a beautiful chocolate brown and peanut butter colored pup staring straight into my soul. I looked at the owner and said, "Do you take exchanges?" She laughed and said "Of course!" I scooped him up so fast and was out the door. He climbed up on the back of my neck and stayed there the whole way home. Every drive after that involved him cuddling up behind my neck and sleeping. I named him Reese as his coloring reminded me of Reese's cups or Reese puffs. Eventually he became a family dog and stayed with my parents and sisters. Over the last year he has had many medical issues, and his health was diminishing. A few nights ago, I went over and did a photoshoot to capture some memories, fed him some of his favorite chicken nuggets from McDonald's, Libby's Vienna sausages, and Ge**er baby food. I gave him a good brushing and did some paw prints for us to keep. Today around 11:40 am he took his last breath. We will miss you forever Reese! You were the goodest boy, and my boys will always remember you 💔
