About a week ago, it was inspiring to get a behind-the-scenes look at the Monocacy Mustangs Cheer team. After a quick photoshoot, these young ladies jumped into an impromptu practice that showed just how much passion, focus, and precision they bring to what they do.
The friendly battle of JV versus Varsity pushes both teams to challenge their talents and raise the bar for one another.
Thank you to these incredible young ladies, Coach Liz, and her staff for the support, dedication, and energy they continue to bring.

One day, while visiting Sally’s Beauty Supply to look for discounted items to donate to SHIP of Frederick, I met the store manager, Crystal. She asked if I needed help, and when I shared what I was trying to do, she immediately offered her support. Since then, we’ve partnered with the Sally’s Beauty Supply location in Frederick near Route 85 and Best Buy. Every few months, they generously provide discounted products that we’re able to pass along to homeless and displaced youth in our community. We are truly grateful for their kindness and ongoing support. Without partners like them, it would be much harder to provide many of the everyday items we often take for granted. A big thank you to Crystal and her amazing staff for believing in this cause. Since launching the drive in 2021, following COVID, the Linganore Cheer Team has shown up every single year with incredible generosity. Coach Amy Rumburg, the cheer staff, the athletes, and their families have donated hundreds of cases of water, helping support our homeless community through SHIP of Frederick and Beyond Shelter. A special shout-out to the Senior Class of 2026 Cheerleaders 🤍 You’ve been part of this effort since you were freshmen, and we hope you continue to carry this spirit of giving with you into the world. Your kindness truly makes a difference.

Thank you from FCC Men’s Basketball
On behalf of Head Men’s Basketball Coach Darryl Whiten we extend our deepest gratitude to the our athletic department, and many friends, families, local businesses, and churches who generously supported our Warm Feet to the Streets homeless outreach. Because of your kindness and donations, we collected over 400 pairs of socks to help serve and support those experiencing homelessness in our community. We are forever grateful for your continued compassion and partnership as we work together to make a positive impact.

We are truly grateful to Black Advancement Inc. for allowing us to capture such a powerful and meaningful event. This symposium brought together community leaders, educators, and passionate voices dedicated to addressing real issues and building real solutions for our future. The conversations, ideas, and shared experiences highlighted the strength of our community and the commitment to creating new opportunities for growth and success. It was an honor to document a gathering so focused on progress, unity, and empowerment. Thank you for trusting us with the responsibility of preserving these important moments. Your work continues to inspire and uplift the path forward for all of us.

VETERANS! Please Read: Everyday, we walk past veterans some we know, and others who quietly fade into the background of life’s noise. Many of them are made invisible by worlds distractions and meaningless object of focus. As a veteran, It’s hard to find the right words to express the depth of our gratitude for those who have made sacrifices and selfless choices in service to our country. You can say words, but without action… That is all they will be is words. Even if it’s not always shown, please know that many of us are truly grateful to you and your families for your courage, commitment, and sacrifice. Whether you served four years or thirty, in the National Guard, Coast Guard, Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force we see you, we honor you, we love you and we thank you!

What an incredible game tonight against Patrick Henry! Although it was close all the way to the final buzzer, the Cougars pulled off a huge win! The team started off strong but lost the lead somewhere in the second quarter. By the third, the Cougars’ defense turned the volume all the way up — racking up back-to-back steals, with nearly 70% of them turning into points on the board. You could feel the energy shift in the fourth quarter. With just a few points separating both teams, every play mattered. But in the end, back-to-back fouls created opportunities for the Cougars to hold and extend their lead. Final Score: Cougars 78 – Patrick Henry 70. After tonight’s performance, one thing’s for sure… Defense wins games!

Over the past few years, i9 Sports has proudly presented the Harlem Wizards to the Frederick community. This annual event attracts children and families from across Frederick County to enjoy one of the most engaging and entertaining experiences of the year. The Harlem Wizards deliver a high-energy show that connects with kids, parents, local businesses, city officials, and many others throughout the community. The exhibition games feature teams composed of local talent, coached by members of the FCC Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff, who take on the challenge of competing against these talented basketball performers. Although the rules are slightly relaxed, our home team always rises to the occasion and keeps pace with the Wizards’ fun-filled antics. The evening is packed with music, food, comedy, interactive activities, and prizes, creating a lively and memorable experience for all who attend. We deeply appreciate i9 Sports and the Harlem Wizards for this opportunity to capture this exciting and meaningful event, which not only entertains but also supports important fundraising efforts for our local community initiatives.

Over the past four years, we have established a great relationship with i9 Sports, serving Frederick County. We have provided photographic coverage for many of their events and several of their affiliates. Their consistent support and leadership in the community have given our business extended life. We thank the owners, staff, coaches, and parents of i9 Sports 437 for supporting small businesses like ours and for uplifting youth sports in our community.

The Frederick Steppers were a highlight of the entertainment at last week’s Mountain City Lodge Organizational Day Parade. These talented young ladies, along with their dedicated coaches, delivered a dynamic performance full of athleticism, sharp dance moves, and remarkable discipline. Dressed in beautiful, coordinated uniforms, they radiated excitement and pride as they showcased their routine. From the very first step to the final drumbeat, their energy never wavered, and their precision kept the crowd cheering. The addition of cowboy hats was a stylish touch that pulled their entire look together while complementing the theme of their synchronized routines. The applause from the hundreds of spectators was proof that their hard work and passion shined brightly. Each year, the Frederick Steppers raise the bar—and this year’s performance may have been their best yet. Join us in congratulating these incredible young ladies on a truly outstanding show!
